hey keith, i have one final stupid questoin but i have to ask as there just really isnt any info on your site.
will i need to get an alignment after i weld this in? I got an alignment when i first raised my 4runner and the guy said while they check the rear alignment, there isnt really anything they can do if they find an issue. so im assuming no, but i still wanted to double check.
the reason i ask is because i recently refreshed my entire front end and im getting an alignment tomorrow to fix the front end. alignments arent cheap and i dont want to pay for a 3rd alignment after i weld this in.
thank you!

Yes and no. If you’re coming from an extended pan hard that was used to re-center the axle and the axle centering did not change after the PCK then theoretically you haven’t changed the alignment.
However, front end alignments use the rear axle position as a baseline for measurement so in the real world, yes, I strongly advise it.

i think i have figured it out and will be able to do only one alignment this weekend after the PCK is installed. this would really be much easier if i had more than one car. walking to the (commuter) bus stop in the rain and dark gets old after a while.
thanks again!

i went through the first half of this thread trying to look for other users setups and what hole they put the panhard bar on the frame side and surprisingly i didnt see anyone list their setup/lift. Mine is a 3" lift all around. almost flat, much better than what it was!
edit:hopefully you can tell but on the frame side i used the hole closest to the ground. it seems as if this setup is pretty much perfect for a 3" lift.

I can't tell from here, but is the frame end of the panhard lower than the axle end? (if so, I'd go up a hole for times when you're carrying weight)

its the angle of the picture. i went out three different times in one day and tried to get a good picture before just settling on this one. it is almost flat, just slightly higher on the frame side.
luckily i dont usually carry weight other than my spare tire in the 'trunk' and the occasional shooting/camping gear.
btw i see what you mean about having to mod the spacers for the middle hole. if i ever do that i will just end up buying a spare set of spacers to mod.

Keith,
One more question re 5th gen; from looking at your web site, it looks like I need only one piece on the axle side, is that correct?
Cheers

Just ordered for 3rd gen. For some reason, on our old 3rd gen with the same lift the drivability wasn't nearly this bad, hoping this makes a big difference. Have that body wobble and just doesn't feel planted. Just got new tires and shocks installed so will probably get a fresh alignment afterwards too.
What kind of paint is everyone using? I am going to sand the entire axle and paint it all.

If you haven't done the rear control arm bushings then you should. It will make a ton of difference. As for paint I just used some rustolium black. but I live where rust isn't an issue.

if youre doing the entire axle, i recommend something better than paint. POR15 is a great option. if you dont want to go that route, VHT makes a good epoxy paint i used when i did my PCK. regular old spray paint will work, but it will chip over time.

Thanks
I recently did all new bushings on the rear, as well as new shocks and tires too. Can't wait to get this bracket installed tomorrow to see the difference.
