Build your own Bandit Bumper - STEVENSVILLE MI

I am selling custom front and rear bumper plans based on the bumpers I built for my third gen 4Runner. The front bumper mounts and winch plate are 1/4” thick steel. The front bumper mounts directly to the 4Runner frame, using a total of 14 bolts. The frame rail ends will need to be cut off, similar to mounting an ARB bumper. These bumpers are designed to fit all standard (non integrated solenoid) 8-10K winches. I will provide you with all necessary information in order to build your own bumper. This includes:
- Detailed component and assembly drawings
- CAD files
- Materials list
- Step by step build instructions with pictures

Your front bumper design can be customized in the following ways at no extra cost:
- Body lift height (Eliminate that ugly gap between the bumper and body)
- Flare width (Match your bumper width to your flares)
- Hoop Design (Standard, PreRunner, Center only, none, etc)
- Material Thickness (Keep it light, or go heavy duty)
- Fog/driving light openings (round PIAA, square Rigid Dually, none, etc)
- Turn signal openings (round, oblong, none, etc)

Front bumper pics:

I am also selling the rear bumper design, as many of my customers have been asking for this for quite a while. The rear bumper also uses 1/4” thick mounting features, and uses 8 bolts in which to mount it. It also has an integrated 2” receiver. Customization for body lifts and flare widths are also included.

Rear bumper pics:

I also have several swing-out tire carrier options for the rear bumper. I have both single swing-arm designs and dual swing-arm designs. Options include ladder, 5-gallon jerry cans, Rotopax cans, Hi-Lift jack mounts, or custom items.
Single swing-arm pics:

Dual swing-arm pics:

The prices are as follows:
Front bumper design = $125
Rear bumper design (No swing-arm) = $125
Single swing-arm for rear bumper = add $35
Dual swing-arm for rear bumper = add $50
If you purchase a front and rear bumper at the same time, I will knock $50 off the total cost.
If you purchased a bumper design from me previously, and would now like to purchase a second design, I will knock off $25.

Take all the guess work out of building your own bumper. Just cut out the parts and weld them together according to the instructions. To make it even more simple, you can even have a shop cut the parts out for you on a waterjet, from the CAD files supplied.

These 3rd gen 4runner bumpers are both stylish and functional. I have sold many of these designs over the past several years, and have never had any complaints. I spend a good deal of time on each design to ensure that the customer is completely satisfied.

Please PM me if you are interested (include your email address), and I will send you some more information.

Thanks,
Bandit Runner

Great looking bumpers! Wish I was in the market or even knew how to weld my own. I would for sure look into getting yours. Do you by chance build them for people? and if so, what do you charge for a completed bumper, front or rear?

Thanks, but sorry I just don't have time to build the bumpers. I'm just a one-man show. You could get a buddy, or hire a fabricator to weld it up for you.

Nice! Any idea what fabricators have been charging to build your design?

Do you have a rough idea of a total materials cost?

Sorry, I'm not really sure. I'm pretty sure all of my customers have done their own welding. I haven't known anyone to hire a welder.

This is really dependent upon a lot of different things:
- material thickness
- buying a full sheet of steel, or partial sheet
- obtaining scrap pieces of steel from your local steel shop
- having a shop water jet cut the pieces out.

I would say just to buy the steel itself would be in the $100-$150 range.

Those are really nice looking bumpers, too bad I am not in the market for a bumper on my DD. I especially like how the rear flows with the body lines and the reverse light placement is sweet. Any chance you could make the receiver tube flush mount mount or higher up as to not affect departure angle?

Thanks. Yes, I can design the receiver to be flush. I have done some this way already. Definitely not a problem.

Love the rear bumper. If I had the money, I would definitely be ordering the design from you. Great work!

Rough estimate for steel is:
1/4" thick: 2' x 3' (for mounts & winchplate)
1/8" or 3/16" thick: 2' x 8' (for outer skin)

As for weight it obviously depends on thickness and design:
1/8" thick skin: approximately 95-100 lbs
3/16" thick skin: approximately 125-130 lbs

Also, I can design in some weight saving features if desired.
