I'd like an option 3 for a 2000 if you're able to build one yet. If you're not able to, I think I have a spare map light I can trade you for a kit.

So I finally came across a late model 3rd Gen maplight assembly for you 99+ guys. I will have to come up with a clean way of doing it yet but I just want to confirm, the pictured assembly is the only model for '99-02 4Runners? TIA

Yes, that maplight design is the same as in my 1999 with no sunroof. I've seen the 99-02 maplights with sunroof, the switches look the same, there is just an extra toggle for the sunroof.

This ebay auction shows the sunroof model: https://www.ebay.com/i/162726897598?chn=ps&dispItem=1

I'm hoping you can develop this soon, I'm ready to buy!

Well the darkness of winter must be setting in as I have had a few people reach out to me about the dome light upgrade. I do plan to make some more this winter so if you are interested please chime in so I can get an idea of how many to make. Thanks for the interest, everyone.

So how does version 3 wire up differently from the first 2 versions in order to retain independent function of the map lights?

Version 3 has two diodes instead of 1.
