Oooh, I didn't know #5 was an option. That makes for nice options and really helps solve the dual battery, air compressor, aux fuse/relay box, and high clearance bumper washer bottle relocation juggling problem.

As you can see, my 2016 has the reinforced mounting point....

Smog pump goes to the passenger firewall location, with my smog pump bracket, or using the shrockworks mounting system... then one of my ARB compressor brackets go over the smog pump...

For the pictures you quoted above, I just removed the pump for a fit test of the shrockworks battery bracket...

This is my ARB compressor mount over my smog pump bracket (smog pump in back near firewall in center)...

This is my ARB compressor mount over the shrockworks smog pump relocation bracket (smog pump would go under the right side in image)...

Yeah, I'm definitely thinking about moving things around under the hood again. I'm not looking to get a high clearance bumper currently, but I don't want to paint myself into a corner either.

I was originally looking at a Bandi mount but ended up moving my compressor off my passenger-side quick-fab bracket to a Slee bracket on the driver side because I thought either a firewall or front dual battery rig would be incompatible. Moving the compressor back to the passenger side will make driver side electrical bits easier. I can throw my on-board tender and a SwitchPro or SPOD on the Slee bracket.

So, front aux battery means moving the smog pump. Front aux battery and HC bumper means moving smog pump AND reservoir, right? Any downside to just getting the Shrockworks smog and reservoir bracket version for potential future proofing, other than a few bucks extra cost?

Yes, if going to a HC bumper, you need to relocate the water reservoir, or it will stick way below in in danger, although i did see a few bumper mfgr's shielding around it, but i don't recall the aesthetics of it being memorable...

If going with the bandi ARB bracket to use in unison with the shrockworks smog pump and water reservoir relocation brackets, then the downsides is you need to mount the bandi bracket to the shrockworks bracket, hence you need to purchase that too... but you could only get the bracket ($95) and get their water reservoir ($258) later, or use a generic one of similar sizing... Although for $25 extra I could make an adapter so you could hold you off of the shrockworks bracket, but like i did do myself, I called them and ordered the bracket for the water pump/smog pump only, with no tank...

Hi Leroy, sent you a PM a couple of day ago, but haven't heard back. I know you get busy so I am posting to the forum in case someone else knows the answers. Cheers!

....

I have a few questions for you?

1) What is the vertical clearance between your mount that accommodates both the Shrockworks air pump/washer reservoir relocation kits and the 5th gen 4Runner hood when closed?

2) Is there any difference in clearance between the above mount and one of the mounts that works with only the air pump relocated (i.e. washer reservoir left in stock location) or are they same?

Thanks\

I want to get one of your mounts, but I want to buy one that allows me to make future mods. Eventually I will relocate the air pump using the Shrockworks kit when I go to dual battery and then relocate the washer reservoir if I get a front bumper. But first I want to see if your mount will accommodate one of those cheapo Masterflow MF1050 compressors (rebranded under many other names). Eventually I will upgrade to one of those dual ARB air compressors.

Yep, saw your message... I was busy packing and sending my youngest son off to serve in FEMA Corps for a year.. He flew off this morning...

I'LL COPY MY REPLY HERE BELOW:

Interesting amount of options your looking for, but unfortunately although not impossible, it could be a lot of work....

I do make an option for the ARB to go on top of the... (#4) Shrockworks smog pump kit...

or on top of the...

(#5) Shrockworks smog pump/water reservoir...

I could possible make an adapter at an additional cost (+$25) to go on top of (#5) so that you could use that generic pump laying on its side, however the one you listed has a side air line which would conflict vertically with the hood if mounted on top of one made for the Shrockworks kits.. or even flipped, the line would face downward and be inaccessible... plus i don't have a actual width of the pump to know if it would even fit (no data on web site of real width, it only lists 7.87" which includes the air line/chuck)...

I'm actually doing a similar setup this weekend for someone, although using a Viair 400p. The customer sent me their Viair pump to fab to exactly as there are not enough online specs to build from digitally, and it has a end located air line....

So your questions...
My #4 and #5 compressor mounting plate are positioned vertically within less then a 1/4" off the top of the smog pump, i.e the position of my compressor mounting plate.

This is the same vertical position for either #4 or #5 mounts, however due to height limitations with the hood, #5 is actually offset towards the engine as to clear the shrockworks water reservoir.

Basically, with #4 and #5, and similar to the other versions, the height is limited, even with the ARB the air port on the compressor needs to be rotated to the side 45* and use a 90* fiting to run the air line out to an air chuck location (absolute wits end sells nifty mounting points BTW)...

Now, you were asking for a standalone of version #5 that would install without the shrockworks mount in place, so that can be done, although at an additional cost (+$25) for an adapter to do so...

I mean for a temporary cheap option, as I use my ARM twin/single pumps for fab'g only, so I use the Viair 88p portable in a canvas bag (amazon - Bucket Boss 69000 Cable Bag)... actually, Viair has a full rage of compressor with varying size/air CFM outputs to select from....

I have a outdated version arb mounting plate ($75) which positioned way lower vertically than all my current models, I could pull it from its packaging and see if it would need the dimensions of masteflow height and let ya know...

Let me know....

Thank You... I'll pass on the thanks' to the Boy... So far he is real excited about the program, he's doing the 1 month at their training facility in MS, then he will be deployed outward... He received $$$ for essentials and also college $$$ for his service.

I work for FEMA myself, so I get to work along side the FEMA Corps "kids" (not supposed to call them kids, but 18-24 years age) and they are a great asset. Anyone can apply, and after and even during, they can possibly get hired on with FEMA full time CORE or as Reservists. It's a great resume topper, plus opens doors to a whole new world of opportunities as they work within all aspects of FEMA, not just one division, and also along with State and Local OEMs.
