FS: 2000 5VZ-FE Engine (Possible Bad HG)-Corpus Christi-250

Price: $250 (T4R special) lol
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Item : 2000 SR5 4Runner 5VZ-FE Engine w/ 224k miles.

**No compression numbers, or pics of mileage before i pulled it.

I pulled it due to an impending doom of what appeared to be a headgasket failing where the tear was small enough to allow fuel to enter the cooling system but not oil.

So the bad,

This engine was not well taken care of maintenance wise by PO, which is another reason why i wanted to pull it.

I would do 2 major things to this engine before it went back in. First, take the heads off and see if there was a HG failure or what was causing fuel to enter the coolant. second, cylinder 1 spark plug threads need a proper timesert. The PO stripped threads and put a crappy spark plug thread repair in. it has held since i got it? so if your good with it leave it alone.

It will have a few things missing like motor mounts, harmonic balancer, cam shaft plugs I can try and put some bolts back but its not worth my time.

The good,

the engine never burned oil I monitored the levels on my dipstick and it was always at the same mark. it ran like a top before I pulled it. I could very well be wrong about anything being wrong with this engine and you may have a total keeper.

I think this engine is perfect for someone who needs to Frankenstein engines together for parts. or someone who wants to roll the dice

now obviously if its cracked head, then its a different story.

Someone get this thing out of my garage before i start screwing with it more lol
