Is it possible to pop the multimode cluster into an SR5 and have it work for the most part? Always loved that 4x4/elock indicator.

I don't. There are different ones through trim levels and years. Base models have dinky ones with vinyl, and limited 99+ trims have a nice thick one that's all the same material as the headliner. I'm unsure of the exact cutoffs for that in particular though.
