FS: TRD Pro OEM Roof Rack & Hardware (5th Gen), Seattle, WA — $350

Parting ways with my 2020 TRD Pro's OEM roof rack on account of swapping it for an aftermarket option.

The rack itself is still in great shape—no scratches or dings, and never had anything strapped or mounted to it. However...

*Please read carefully*

The passenger-side rear foot, (the plastic piece that sits on top of the roof) is a bit chewed up on account of encountering the dreaded seized bolt that can plague 5th Gen roof rack removals (see attached photos). Long story short (and many headaches/expletives later) we had to completely Dremel the head of the bolt from the shank just to remove the OEM rack (and subsequently drop the bracket into the headliner... an even bigger headache). In doing so we had to cut into the plastic of the rack's foot since the Dremel cutting disc was a bit wider than the diameter of the bolt's cylinder. The result is a few nicks into the plastic around the bolt cylinder. Not a fun day

The rack should still mount without a problem as the cylinders are still intact and the chewed plastic shouldn't interfere with any of the hardware. Just some cosmetic blemishes on that specific area of the foot itself.

Definitely recommend saving yourself some headaches and using some anti-seize and being very careful during your install. If you ever want to remove the rack you'll be glad you did.

I'm selling:
  • the OEM rack
  • a brand new set of mounting hardware (PT278-36070-HW) which includes 8x T40 bolts, plus washers
  • the existing 4x roof rack brackets (63185-42020)

Asking for $350 on account of the blemish. DM me if you're near the Seattle area and are interested.

All sales are final.

Not planning on heading down to Utah any time soon. You can have first dibs if you want to make a road trip though

From what I understand, most if not all 5th Gen 4Runners share the same mounting points--the differences being the hardware that's used to secure the brackets to the roof, as well as the roof racks themselves. Recent-model TRD Pros use T40 Torx bolts to affix the basket-style rack to the roof, whereas other trims/model years use Metric 12-sized bolts (you'll find these on models that have the roof rails). While the bolts differ, the mounting points remain the same.

Member W8kbrder has a couple write-ups revolving around this exact question:
and member Squirtdogg seems to have done exactly what you're asking:
This is by no means an extensive list. There's plenty of other threads out there that discuss this topic, so poke around if you don't find what you need right away. I'm also not an expert on the topic by any means, so I'd recommend giving your local dealership a call and double-checking if you're still unsure. Definitely seems to be doable, and lots of members have helpful write-ups.

Hope that helps.
