Rebuilt 3rd gen door stoppers - $100

Hey fellas,

Inspired by Timmy's door stopper repair video I got a set of OEM door stoppers from a 3rd gen and rebuilt them with the kit from mother Russia.

The materials used in the rebuild kit are superior to OEM since they are MOS2 filled plastic -- they will wear longer and be smoother through their life.

I figured this would save one of ya'll some time. I will need you to send your old stoppers back to me (I'll cover return shipping) so I can rebuild another set for the next person.

I'll send along the bottle of moly lube so you can apply more to the stopper rod as you see fit. This set will do both front doors and both back doors.

Asking $100 + return of your old ones (I'll cover shipping which oughta be about $8-9)

Old plastic stopper pieces vs. new ones

The set I'm selling (brewski and coozie not included)

After seeing Timmy's video and being rather lazy by nature, this is tempting!

What's the longest period of time anyone has used these kits from MR?

We have a general idea how long OEM lasts, but I'm wondering if MR's will last as long?

GLWS,

Eddie

I'm not sure how to know or estimate this. But based on my knowledge of engineering polymers I expect it to outlive the OEM material. I imagine relubricating on occasion helps prolong the life.

Nice thing is, once your door stoppers have had their spot welds drilled out it would be easy to pull them and swap the plastic bits again lets say in 5-10 years. Drilling out the welds is what takes the time. I got a nice little setup on my drill press that let me get it done pretty cleanly.

Hi folks,

I just wanted to throw it out here that I have now done a good handful of these door stoppers and would be happy to rebuild a set for you. I can also do a partial set (such as only the front doors).

To make the switcheroo easier my idea is to send you a rebuilt set and then you return your cores. I'm still waiting on @R3Z3N to return his cores (ahem) so we can get back on track.

However, if you want to find a good junkyard set and ship 'em to me to rebuild we can do that too.

I try to keep 1-2 repair kits on hand all the time.
