'98 4Runner Ltd,2WD, $5,800, Nice setup, Houston, TX

As much as I love my 4Runners, other priorities on the way with a due date of September. It's a 3rd vehicle that gets driven on the weekend just to keep the fluids running. It pains me to see it sitting there wasting away when my new "hobby" entails turning a guest room into a baby room.

1998 Toyota 4Runner Limited

I realized after the posting that I forgot to include the photo with the WAAG brushguard, but it IS included in the sale, and is in good condition- no dents, typical minor scratches. I'm open to offers, but let's be gentleman about it- no BS, please.

Oh, and not parting out any accessories- sorry, folks. If I don't get what I'm asking for, that will be my indication that it's not meant to be sold. Any questions? Feel free to ask away!

124 views and no inquiries has me a bit curious, so any input/feedback/suggestions are more than welcome here. I know we all want a 4WD, but there are a few of us out there who are able to survive with a 2WD.

Am I asking too much? Recommendations/suggestions?

Thanks, all.....

A couple of thoughts-

First, I think your price is a bit steep by checking out the other 3rd gens around Houston for reference. The records are great, and def. worth something, but probably not $1000.

Second, at the end when you say, "NOT WORKING: power antenna (surprise, surprise) THAT's it--- for now. . .. . ."
I would change that to just read, "As with a good number of 4Runners of this generation, the power antenna is not working."

The way you worded it makes it seem as if you expect more to fail.

Anyway, good luck with your sale, and congrats on the baby =)

I'm not in the market, but since you ask, I think you're asking way too much. Unless you find the one person out there that wants exactly what you've installed on the truck, aftermarket goodies actually detract from your sales value. The kind of buyers that won't be put off by the 2wd WILL be put off by the brush guard and rack and oversize tires.

If you want to sell it, you need to a) take it back to stock, b) take the sticker off the window, then c) price it a little lower than what similiar 4runners in similiar condition in your area are selling for. Don't say anything about fishing or hunting trips, it makes people think the rig has been abused. Don't get all enthusiastic about how awesome 4Runners are, it looks like a hard sell and is offputting. Don't go into detail about the obsessive little maintenance things you've done, just mention that it's a well kept rig and you have all the maintenance records, and leave it at that.

Good luck!

Every Vehicle is worth something different to everybody. 4runners are still quite popular. But as mentioned above I'd lose the Rack, brush guard and TRD sticker. I've been looking for one for a while now and stock ones catch a higher price. I just sold a completely customized Tundra and lost my a$$ on the sale, had it been stock I know I would have gotten more. Of course I decided to try and sell a lifted truck in a state that has one of the worst lift laws around.

Make it look stock and GLWS

First, I want to thank you all for the great feedback! Rest assured your suggestions are being considered and I have already removed the posting for some updating. It obviously never dawned on me that my enthusiasm could actually be detrimental to the sale, but you all make good sense.

I had a gentleman call me today for it, and I am sending him some more photos of the T4R and he will be happy to know of the reduced price. With hope, this will get the truck to someone who will enjoy it and use it more than the one day per week that I am currently driving it.

A.Wilson013- thanks also for the well wishes on the new upcoming role at home!

I'll get back with the new posting! Cheers, all!
