Up for sale is my 1995 Toyota 4Runner SR5 3.0L V6 4WD.
Clean title. I'm the 3rd owner. Non-smoking vehicle. It has
269,xxx miles on the body (
89,xxx miles on
rebuilt engine) and counting since it's my daily driver. 30 mi/day average. We purchased it at 181,000 miles in 2006 from a family friend and it wasn't running. We had the engine rebuilt with mostly new components at Culver City Toyota and we have the paperwork. Since then we have been taking it to Pepboys Westchester and Culver City for regular maintenance and have complete service records through them. We've spent roughly $20k to bring it to the condition it is in now. Motor rebuild was almost $7k, the rest of the cost is from replacing parts that were wearing out and regular servicing. It'll last reliably for
much longer with regular maintenance.
Modifications (all cosmetic):
- OEM push bar and tail light guards
- Alarm and remote keyless entry
- Reupholstered 2-tone leather seats (originally cloth)
- Weathertech wind deflectors
- Window tint - Front 50%, Rear 15%, windshield strip, sunroof
- Benevento dual flap sunroof deflector
- Rear cargo mat
- Firehawk heavy duty floor mats
- Steering wheel cover
- Dashboard cover
-
No suspension modifications
-
No engine modifications. I purchase a cold air intake but have not installed it yet (will include w/ sale).
I will be selling the entire stereo system with the truck as I no longer have the original radio and speakers. The system includes:
- Jensen VM9413 Multimedia flip-up screen receiver with CD/DVD player, HD Radio, iPod, AUX, SD card, USB connections as well as the option to hook up bluetooth, navigation, and satellite radio.
- I installed a backup camera
- SPX Pro Audio 1000 watt peak, 600 watts RMS amp
- 2 10" SPX Pro Audio subwoofers with separate volume control knob
- 300 watt Dual XPA2100 speaker amp
- Pioneer TS-Series speakers in front and Kenwood KFC-1394ps speakers in the back
THE BAD: Mainly small things.
- Rear left door power lock actuator no longer works. Must unlock and lock manually via tab.
- Rear Right passenger window *from the driver's window switches* goes up consistently but not down all the time. The RR window seems to only go down consistently from the driver's switches when the truck has been running for several minutes. However, it works 100% of the time in both directions directly from its own switch. All of the other windows work fine from both their own switch and the driver's switches.
- The paint has faded in some spots and has a few scratches and swirls.
- Right mirror was clipped in a parking structure. It's still aligned correctly and power adjust still works perfectly, just minor cosmetic damage in the bottom corner. (Pictures in dropbox)
THE GOOD: Everything else works as it should.
- A/C is freezing and the heater is boiling.
- Engine runs VERY smoothly, turns on the second crank cold, first when warm. I don't drive it cold. I always let the motor warm up for about 3-5 minutes before I drive. It has become a habit. Timing belt and a few pulleys were replaced 2 years ago when an accessory pulley decided to lock up while driving.
- I had a problem where when parked after driving for a really long time, the transmission would sometimes not re-engage into drive or reverse on the first try, but since recently swapping a few components, I have not had problems.
- There is surprisingly very little rust on the body, considering its age. (underbody pictures in the dropbox link above). It has been registered in Los Angeles since 2001 (before that, Park City, UT), so I know it hasn't seen any salty winter conditions since then.
- The transfer case works perfectly. Although I never use 4WD I do test it every once in a while.
- Power steering is light and direct
- Braking is firm
- All interior and exterior lights work.
Recent work: I got all the paperwork
- JUST PASSED SMOG!!! (1-24-14)
- Completely cleaned & detailed the inside and out. The interior feels smells as fresh as any new car out there (1-18-14)
- Fixed timing issue that caused failed smog. Timing belt reset and 2 cam gears reinstalled. (1-17-14)
- Replaced head gasket (1-17-14)
- Synthetic oil change (1-4-14)
- Wheels balanced and rotated (1-4-14)
- Transmission flushed. Thermostat and filter replaced. ~1000 mi ago
- Exhaust leak fixed and catalytic converter replaced at Midas Culver City. ~3300 mi ago
- Brake master cylinder, pads, rotors, shoes, fluid replaced ~3400 mi ago
- Brake power booster replaced after failure a few months ago ~3400 mi ago
- Front left half shaft replaced ~3400 mi ago
This is my first vehicle and I'm ready to move on to something a little faster and more efficient. Since I've owned it has not been in any accidents nor has it been in any off-road conditions other than a few dirt trails. It's only been on a few road trips, mainly down to the San Diego area. As it is my first vehicle I'm sad to let it go. If I could keep it as a second vehicle, I would build it up to use offroad more.

Asking Price: SOLD!!!!
As there are a few small things that may need repairing, I'm willing to flex on the price a little bit to make things easier. I'd really like you to see it in person before you throw an offer, however, I'd like to know what you feel like it's worth.
I will only accept payment in full as I need the money to buy another daily driver.
If you have more questions, want the VIN# and/or are interested, please PM me, or email me at
