FS: 2nd gen SR5 V6 5sp manual, $1100 OBO - Toronto, Canada
Hi everyone,
Please note THIS CAR DOES NOT PRESENTLY RUN
I set a price I think is reasonable but it is negotiable, and as a noob please let me know if I'm out of my mind!
=============================
This was going to be a project car to eventually give to my son, but I ran out of time and garage space (which my wife would like to have back now).
I'd prefer to sell to an enthusiast who wants to build an awesome off-roader, but would be open to selling to someone looking for a parts car.
I replaced all 4 tires a few years back with brand new BF Goodrich off roaders (30" or 33" I think) for around $1,200. They still have loads of tread as you can see in the pictures.
Front calipers were replaced and pads/rotors are good.
This car has a manual transmission and a low range transfer case. It's old school and it works.
Now the bad. The car has some defects, the most obvious and serious is of course the motor. The 3.0L motor was notorious for blowing head gaskets and that's what happened to mine. Since the engine started blowing clouds of white smoke I garaged it. Other defects (not including the standard wear&tear on a 23 year old car!) are listed below.
Again, this car would be perfect for an enthusiast who wants to build a great year round truck. If you want an awesome 4x4 and have the space to work on the car, I'd love for her to find a good home rather than go to the scrapyard.
Defects:
- Head gasket (Toyota recall repair was already exercised by previous owner)
- Alternator
- Shocks
- Clutch slips a little but still has life left
- Some rust around fenders and a rust hole RF
- Crack in dash
- A/C needs charging (even when it worked I preferred sunroof and tailgate window open though!)
- Paint fade (should be restoreable)
- LF window regulator
- Minor electrical gremlins due to previous owner having aftermarket stereo/alarm
To the best of my knowledge everything else (including power rear tailgate window) works. With a little time and elbow grease this could be a truly sweet ride.
***No reasonable offers will be refused.***
My wife wants her garage space back so I have limited time. Please don't make me send my beloved 4Runner to the crusher!
