Selling my 1998 4Runner Limited 4wd / 4x4. I purchased this truck 15 months ago and it has been a great truck that does everything well. I am selling only because I need to buy a pickup truck and will keep if I cannot get close to my price as it really is that solid a truck.
I purchased this truck with 190k miles on it and it currently sits at 204k. I religiously change the oil every 4k miles and this truck is cared for with an open wallet policy (as indicated below by the parts I’ve replaced)….if it needs something it gets it. This truck has been a VA/MD truck all its life with limited exposure to salt (based on the undercarriage and lack of rust).
Options:
- OEM Roof Rack (with cross bars)
- Leather Interior
- Floor Mats (including carpeted cargo mat)
- OEM E-Locker Rear Differential
- 4wd
- New Monroe Rear Shocks (purchased before my ownership) = no rear sag.
New Parts!:
- New Driver’s Side Leather Seat Cushion (perfect OEM leather match)
- Energy Suspension Swaybar Bushings and Endlinks
- New Timing Belt and Water Pump (@200k miles)
- New 70A Alternator (@ 203k miles)
- New Power Steering Rack and 4 Wheel Alignment (@203k miles)
- Brand new 5/2016 Virginia Inspection completed (@ 203k miles)
Bad:
- Ignition tumbler occasionally sticks. Cutting a new key should fix…or you can simply flip the key over which always works to engage the tumblers. Such a minimal deal, that I’ve not addressed.
- Valve cover gaskets weep VERY slightly in the winter. Not noticeable in the summer and loses zero appreciable oil between oil changes on the dipstick.
- Rear bumper has the typical surface rust most 3rd gen 4runners have which is shown in pictures. I just purchased a replacement bumper (and already rust-proofed it) that will come with the sale for the new owner.
- SunRoof doesn't open. Sounds like the gear may be frozen.
Price is $5700.
