Automatic
4x4 (w/ locker)
200k
Clean title
Location: Menomonie, WI 54751 (one hour east of Minneapolis-St Paul, MN)
Reason for selling: Unfortunately, I will be working quite some distance away starting in May and will need a car with better gas mileage. Ran out of time to do the few minor fixes it needs. Need this sold yesterday. I drove it home from Denver, wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere.
For sale is my 1999 Toyota 4Runner SR5 (w/ rear differential lock!!) in beautiful dark green. You'll never get stuck with the two rear wheels locked together. The 99 and 2000 model years w/ rear locker are the most desirable due to the updated interior and more aesthetically pleasing exterior. This has been a Colorado vehicle it's whole life -- probably one of the only rust free 4runners in Wisconsin! If you are looking at these, make sure to check for rusted out frames before buying. These vehicles are the king of reliability. Very fun to drive with the sunroof open and the rear hatch window rolled down!
Engine runs great. Brakes and suspension are in good condition. Transmission shifts well with no slips. No leaks, misses, etc.
Recent maintenance:
-Timing belt @ 133k
-Fresh oil change with Valvoline synthetic/Purolator filter
-New air filter
-Fresh gear oil in differential & transfer case
-New front brake pads / rotors resurfaced
-New battery in February 2016
Upgrades:
-2008 Toyota Tacoma wheels with Michelin tires
-Toyota 4runner "Highlander" (Sport) edition hood. Very desirable upgrade.
-"Deckplate" airbox modification
-JL Audio speakers front & rear
The vehicle drives and tracks well, but in the interest of full disclosure, the frame is just slightly bent in front of one of the cross members on the front right side (shown in last picture). It was inspected at Triple K Frame Repair in Hammond, WI as a precaution (they came highly recommended from a body shop here in town) and it was verified as 100% safe/fine to drive. In fact, they said it was better than the rusty frames people drive around with here in Wisconsin! Ha! The price is well adjusted for this fact.
I think the truck needs a new steering rack (slight tight spot in steering - just over $200 online). Needs LCA bolts & adjustment plates installed on the right side (I have OEM cam bolts, nuts, etc. with aftermarket adjustment plates from Total Chaos). The truck will also not come with the Kenwood Excelon head unit I currently have installed unless negotiated otherwise. I can install one for you if you like. The front windshield is also cracked (common Colorado problem). This truck is 100% ready to drive home!
$2500. NO TRADES. I'm happy to answer any questions not answered in this post. Test drives available with cash in hand. Thanks for reading.
