Description
Beautiful, loved, low mileage (97,XXX) 4Runner ready for a new home and new adventures. I have owned this since 2012 and it has been my favorite vehicle I have ever owned. Needed a truck so bought a Truck in November 2015 and finally ready (I think) to let my 4Runner go to a new home. While the newer 5th Gens sure are nice, you can’t get a V8 like what this has in a 5th Gen. Exceptionally well-maintained, always did recommended service, differentials and transmission flushed regularly and full synthetic oil since I have had it.
This is a head-turner that always gets complements wherever we go. Nice modest lift to allow 33” tires but still maintains exceptional handling on dry or slippery roads. Upgraded steel front bumper is awesome, by far my favorite for this generation 4Runner, and worth the 6-month wait. This has been the most reliable and capable vehicle I have ever owned. Perfect for adventures big or small or even just hauling the kids or groceries.
Most of the miles are highway from long road trips, 6 road trips to the U.S. Southwest and 1 trip from Wyoming to Seattle. Never seriously driven off-road, only fire and forest roads for camping and expedition trips. Makes a great long-distance Expedition vehicle with the huge roof rack, you can see in some of the photos how much stuff is able to be stored up there. I had a special cut foam mattress pad and my wife and I slept in the back (I’m 5’9”, she’s 5’4”) for many nights and have cargo nets on the sides in the back rear that are useful for storing sleeping bags, clothing etc.
Recent Mechanical work done:
-New rear brake pads (< 100 miles on vehicle since)
-New Radiator and all hoses (< 100 miles on vehicle since)
-New Battery (November 2015)
-Remanufactured OEM front CV Axles (CVJ Axles) much stronger than aftermarket / cheap parts store axles.
Upgrades: (Over $7,000 in upgrades, many recent and with < 12,000 miles on suspension) - -Icon Stage 2 Lift with Light Racing adjustable UCA’s (Coilover suspension ~3-3.5” lift over stock. - Note: Spare is BFG MT 255/75/17 (largest I could get to fit and large enough to work as a spare without disturbing VSC / AWD)
- -Shrockworks Front Bumper</a>Shrockworks Front Bumper. Black powder coat, center hoop and headlight guards, holes for shackles, holes for lights on top, winch mount, and room for fog lights. ($1,500 with shipping) 03-09 4th Gen 4Runner Stage 2 Lift w/ Light Racing UCA's

This is one of the most versatile racks out there for a 4Runner. ($1,325) Eezi-Awn K9 2.2 Meter Roof Rack System for Toyota 4th Gen 4Runner
- -Thule 460 podium mounts and 65” cross bars that fit directly into the roof rack and allow all of your Thule / Yakima accessories to mount ($250)
- -Coverking solid black Neosupreme Wetsuit Custom fit seat covers, installed right after I purchased the 4Runner (2012). Rear still in excellent condition, front in good condition, shows some wear but factory upholstery in perfect condition ($450)
- -Windows tinted all four sides (in addition to factory privacy) and rear glass ($300)
- -LED auxiliary reverse lights installed below rear bumper for help in backing up, setting up camp etc. Have on SPDT switch to either be On all the time, to turn on when vehicle is in reverse, or Off. Great for when you are out in the middle of no where and need additional light behind you.
- -Remote car starter (Avital 4103) Great for cold days, especially trips up in the mountains for skiing / riding / snowshoeing. Range is great, have a nice warm vehicle waiting for you when you get back to it.
Known Problems: Broken bolt for front skid plate. Still holds fine but needs to be drilled out and re-tapped.
