FS or FT: 3rd Gen 2000 Limited 4x4 E-locker 4.56 gears Overland Built (Texas)

After almost a 13 year long love affair and more than 160k miles of adventures in this beauty I think it's time for the next chapter of its life.

It pains me to even write this like I'm putting down the family dog but let me assure you there is a ton of life left in this ole' girl.

After wanting a 4Runner since I was 16 I was finally able to afford on in 2006. I was very particular about exactly what I wanted and searched along time to find "the one". It was a 2 owner: 1st owner was a dealership custom order (Limited with hood scoop, sports seats, and e-locker) they sold it to the 2nd owner who was a single lady who commutes back and forth in it, never off-roading.

I bought it in Janurary of 2006 with a little over 140k miles on it. Drove it stock for about 4 years before slowing transforming it into the beast you marvel at before you. Build for Overland adventure. I am a Toyota NUT. Aside from this I have owned 3 Landcruisers, 1 Tundra, and a GX470 (Landcruiser Prado). I created a following influencing my brother who has owned 4 Toyota's, my father who has 2 Landcruisers, and a couple of my cousins who all drive 4runners. I love them because they take care of you, and because of that, I take meticulous care of them.

All that being said let's get down to the nitty gritty. This is a 2000 4Runner with just over 300k miles (and just getting started). Over $20,000 invested.
-4x4 with electronic and manual shifter
-Factory e-locker
-Toytec Ultimate suspension lift with the adjustable front coil overs, OME rear springs, and Bilstein 5150 rear shocks (the ones with the external reservoir)
-Leather interior in very good shape
-Sunroof
-All LED bulbs interior and exterior
-JVC double DIN CD player that gives it a factory look instead of a cheap single DIN player
-CB radio custom installed in the ashtray so it almost looks factory
-Front bumper is from All Pro Off-road. It's the Apex bumper that is custom Line-X lined to match the paint on the fender flares
-Rock sliders are DOM tubing from 4xInnovations (passengers side not installed yet but obviously comes with it)
-Rear swing-out bumper is from Outdoor Logic (no longer in business) and has 2 minor issues to keep it from being perfect, but is still 100% functional
-3/16" plate molded steal skid plates for engine and transmission that come from Savage Off-road
-Roof rack is Surco and has Yakima bike racks on it to support carrying 2 bicycles
-Tundra brake upgrade. This means the front brakes have the same 231mm calipers and pads as the Toyota Tundra. It's one of the best updates you can do for these trucks
-Deck plate mod
-Constant 12v power mod
-Air silencer delete
-Throttle boost for colder air
-1" diff drop to help with geometry when lifting
-4x4 shift solenoid replaced
-4.56 gears
-Amsoil Severe Gear oil in the front and rear differentials and transfer case
-Factory 5star wheels painted to custom match the fender flares and rocker panels. 33" tires with 70% tread left. 285 75 16

Here is a list of things that were done in the last 6 months(over $6000 invested)
-Front drivers seat has new bottom and console was recovered and padded ($300)
-New rack and pinion ($850)
-New inner and outer tie rods ($90)
-2 newly rebuilt CV axles with longer boots to account for the lift ($180)
-New Denso Radiator and red Toyota coolant ($180)
-New upper and lower radiator hoses ($40)
-All new belts from gates ($70)
-New fail-safe thermostat ($30)
-New OEM Lower ball joints ($300)
-New upper control arms from SPC with adjustable upper ball joints ($750)
-Transmission rebuilt by MultiState Transmission in FW with 36 Month unlimited miles warranty ($2600)
-New external transmission cooler from AEM ($200)
-New Silverstar Ultra Sylvania Headlights ($90)
-Drivers seat plastic side cowel ($180)
-New LED dash lights and digital A/C light display ($34)
-New Alternator ($140)
I'm sure I'm leaving something out but these are the major things.
-3 new O2 sensors ($275)

So here are the bad things:
-Had the "Pink Milkshake" over the summer. That's the reason for the new radiator, radiator tubes, thermostat, transmission, and transmission cooler. I've put 2000+ miles on the new transmission and good as new.
-On one of my adventures I got pinned up against a barbed wire fence. The fender flares took 98% of the damage. I've already sanded them down and prepped for paint and then decided to Line-X them to match the front bumper, but never for around to it.
-The JVC radio is starting to act a little bit glitchy, the power antenna doesn't work so I bought the stuff to do a Tacoma whip antenna but have not had time. I just plug my AUX chord to it and play music on my phone so it's really not an issue to me. If you want to fix it, it's about a 45 minute ordeal.
-The pin on the rear swing out bumper is broken so it doesn't lock in the open positions. Only an issue if you try to open it on a hill and parked with the drives side high, otherwise a non issue. Im sure you can get a replacement, it's just a non-issue for me.
-ABS light is on bc I disconnect it 6-7 years ago. It acted up a few times and almost caused me to rear end someone so enough was enough. When I did the Tundra brakes I disconnected the ABS. No issues since and actually works way better without.

Really that's it. Engine has good compression and runs strong as ever and will continue to. I really considered throwing a TRD supercharger from Magnuson, URD 7th injector kit, headers, and the whole get up will get you some proper HP.

Since having 2 kids I just don't get to use it for it's intended use. Still a great daily driver, I drive it 2-3 days a week and the rest of the time I drive my 2015 Tundra. Needs to be owned and loved by someone who can have fun with it. I would not hesitate to drive this anywhere. In the last year it has made 4-5 trips to Abilene, 1 to Wichita KS, one to Little Rock, and several to Austin and Houston.

So I still haven't mentioned a price, I would really like to trade for something else. Primarily looking for an old American muscle car. Dodge Charger or Challenger, Plymouth Duster or Roadrunner, Chevy Camaro, Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, GTO, Chevrolet Corvette or something with an LS swap would be fun. Really only interested in manual transmissions bc I'm not interested in taking your grandmother to prom. I was something fun to drive. A loud V8 that Tim the Toolman Taylor would grunt over.

If you have something that is slightly more valuable than my 4Runner I can put cash toward it, if you have a project that is running and driving but needs someone else to take over and you want to put cash toward my ride, let's talk. I'm open to lots of things so don't be afraid to ask. Worst case scenario I say no. If it's love at first sight and you don't have a trade message me with an offer. Just to let you know, don't waste your time with a four figure offer.

I have it listed on CL for $11,500 - My firm cash price to T4R members is $10,000. Really still prefer trade.

Check out my build thread for history on the build.

Thanks for reading through this long winded tale.

Thanks. Always better to use the index finger instead of its neighbor.

Yes. Only one side is welded on. I have to get the other side welded on there, or leave that to the buyer. Not sure which will happen first. My favorite color combo as well.

Yeah, thanks. Some jack wagon in a dark basement was mad bc I wouldn't accept $4500. "But its cash and i need a car. Im going to keep flagging your post until you accept my offer."

UPDATE:
State Inspection passed today so its good for another year, and I pulled the iginition and had all the wafers replaced by a locksmith so the key doesnt get stuck anymore.

All good to go to a new home for adventures.
