I am reluctantly selling my beloved 4runner.
She currently has 221k Miles on her, if you look at my former posts you will see some of the massive amount of preventive maintenance I have done on her.
She is basically stock as far as lift and whatnot.
The outside is overall pretty good, no rust! The only thing I was about to do, before I decided to move to a cushy Lexus, was paint the hood and top, thankfully the rest is in overall good shape.
The inside is pretty good, I did put weathertech $200 floor mats in the front and back seats, and I love them! I also put in some seat covers, as the drivers seat was starting to tear a bit. I just washed the seat covers as well.
She drives fine and is very reliable, the reason I am selling is because I am getting older and my back hurts on long distance drives, I mean like 1000+ drives, not the little 500 miles stuff. I am getting a lexus for comfort now.
I bought it at 95k and the previous owner had it from 45k and was running synthetic oil, and the previous owner was a police office and didn't drive it too much so he sold it.
Here are some of the things I have done. I will go somewhat in reverse order.
As I was about to go on a 2500 miles trip, my mechanic recommended I replace the calipers and pads before I go. I didn't have time and just drove my prius, but it now has new pads, calipers, and brake lines, the rotors are good.
By the way, I upgraded to the 199mm tundra calipers years ago, with no regrets!
As of 210k the timing belt kit was done with oem equipment.
At 200k I did a slew of things, that was when I did the transmission fluid change, plugs, wires, rear diff.
Amsoil used pretty much everywhere, Transmission (pull the intake and out tubes for a shadetree flush, without the power and safely) diffs and transfer case, engine of course as well.
I replaced the radiator just in case years ago, and added a B&M cooler that is in my sig. Although I haven't towed much, it is sure ready for it.
I have replaced all the coil packs, 2 recently and one maybe 4 of 5 years ago.
It also has a K&N cold air intake, I recently oiled it, it has never given me any issues.
It has a newish radio that i use all the time with bluetooth for phone calls and audio books and amazon music while driving. I think it is two or three years old.
I put monroe shocks and struts on a few years ago, with Orielly springs. Though I heard they would start sagging, they have done very well. After that, it does ride much better than before.
It has hankook Dynapro All terrain tires. This is my second set I think, they seem to be really good road tires, at least for an All terrain tire. They have a pretty good amount of tread left, I can check my records but I would say they have 60-70% left on them.
Everything works, except the rear windshield washer squirter. My friend, the mechanic that I let do all my ridiculous maintenance, just advised I switch that one with the front, when the front died. I never used the rear one anyway. I actually have the pump for the front, and I will give it to whoever buys it.
I do have a Yaesu 8900 amateur radio installed, and I installed an nmo mount in the center of the roof, I was thankful I got a 4runner with no sunroof! The Yaesu will not be with the sale unless somebody wants to pay an extra $250 for it, it is a $500+ radio. The antenna mount will be very good for a cb however.
I have a giant list of other stuff I have done, but I think that is the big stuff, I may add more later.
Gas mileage on the highway at 75 is typically a solid 19. City of course varies to 15 or 16. If you are actually driving long distances on relative flat at like 60mph, you can see a fair bit better. I am usually on interstate, or mountains or something, not often going slower on flats.
It does not have diff locker, I was tempted to get a LSD or something, but I just don't go off-road much, but I do always run it some in four wheel drive to keep it working well.
The valve cover gaskets will be changed as of 11/1 as my friend the mechanic is coming in town. He is going to do a bunch of things for my gx470 so I figured I would let him knock that out as well. Should be clean as a whistle when he is done.
As mentioned before, I have no fear of driving this across the county, it is in great shape mechanically.
I would like to see this go to somebody who will appreciate her, it would make an excellent car to build an off road beast with. It would also be good as a daily driver as I use it now, and will likely see 500k+ if you treat it like I do.
Sorry I didn't clean my car before the pics, I still drive it daily after all
The price is 5k.
If you actually read all this, you must be interested
Shoot me a DM and I would be happy to answer any questions.
