FS '99 3rd Gen 4Runner Highlander Edition, 190k, $7k, Green Bay, WI.
FS 1999 4Runner Highlander edition. Neenah (45min South of Green Bay, 1hr 30min North of Milwaukee, 3hr North of Chicago)
Selling due to changing family vehicle needs. Been a great truck, time to let go. I have been hemming and hawing about selling it since I purchased the replacement vehicle a year ago. I don’t need 3 cars.
Two owner vehicle, I have owned since 2006
~190000 on odometer
No Mods, Never taken off road. See image of window sticker for option packages. No E-Locker
While WI isn’t nice to 4runners, this one spent its first 13 years (more or less) out of the midwest salty winters. Hardly driven in the last year. Some rust on undercarraige, tried to take pics to present fair representation.
The good:
This truck has never broken down on me, ever.
I have kept most of my repair receipts.
I have all the parts for the roof rack and the cargo cover.
Recent work:
Walker Direct fit stainless muffler and tailpipe (~2016) - unfortunately tailpipe has recently rusted off of muffler. Muffler still intact though
New OEM carpeted floor mats
Fuel filter (2016)
Alternator (2015)
Starter (2014 @ 153k)
Tires and 17” tundra wheels (2013 @ 144k) They appear to have ~10k miles left
Brakes / Rotors, thermostat, transmission cooler, plugs/wires (2013 @ 135k miles). Not sure how I got lucky with these, but stops straight, no warped rotors.
Timing Belt @ 95k.
Needs attention:
AC not working.
Front steering rack leak at boots since ~ 2014. Have never had power steering issues. Just a drip of fluid here and there. I have topped off with leak fix when necessary. Front sway bar links are broken per last oil change inspection.
Could use new headgaskets.
Many of the lights on the center (AC/clock) are out. Gauge cluster lights all work.
Driver door dent (see pics) A minor fender bender that left the front bumper a little misshapen (see pics). Has never been in any other accidents.
Let me know if there’s any information I left out.
The truck was originally purchased in 1999 in Chicago area as high school graduation present for 1st owner. The truck went with him to University of Southern California. He moved back to Chicago and hardly used truck for a few years and I purchased it (from him - private sale) in 2006 with 63000 miles. I literally picked it up on my way to move to Orange County California. Was there from ‘06-’09. Then in Seattle until ‘10. Then it was garaged in WI while I lived in New York City ‘til 2012. It’s been my driver in Wisconsin since summer ‘12...until the last year, when it has been sitting in garage and I have been procrastinating selling because it has been so good to me.
