Selling my 2002 Toyota 4Runner 3.4L V6 SR5 4WD
It was my first car, purchased in Connecticut, paid full price for it back in May of this year, ~$6.2k USD. Long story short, I had it inspected when I bought it, and it checked out for them, but the person who did it missed a lot of things that came up later during another inspection.
I had the car inspected again on October 29th, by Andrew Bleakley (certified independent car inspector for 28+ years, with the Canadian Automobile Protective Association), the best car inspector in Quebec, and certainly Montreal. It turned out the the car was leaking from different places, which Andrew listed in the
inspection report, attached in comments below.
The exhaust leak is small, Andrew said it could be fixed for around 100 bucks. The other leaks are larger and will be costly, I was told. A couple thousand dollars.
If you have any questions about the condition of the vehicle, you can call Andrew (mention Gabriel and the 2002 4Runner), and you can certainly call me. I’m not trying to sugarcoat anything here.
I’m living in Canada now, but will be in Hartford, Connecticut (my hometown), to sell the vehicle. I can meet in most places in Connecticut, and am open to considering meeting anywhere else between Montreal and Hartford. The car has Connecticut plates on it, not shown in the pictures.
The positive points:
The car has barely any rust on the frame at all. No holes in the frame. Which is good news for us up north, and is a big reason I bought it. It will last if taken care of. I was told that the car spent most of its life in the south, and had only made it up North when I bought it.
Interior is in great shape. No problems anywhere, everything looks good. No rips/tears, etc.
The paint is all original.
The car has not been in any major accidents. No rebuilding or anything like that.
4wd works perfectly. Clicks in and clicks out of 4wd mode just fine.
AC and heating work perfectly, blowing strong hot and cold air when you need it.
I was told during the road test part of the inspection that the transmission works fine, it shifts up and down gears without any issues, which Andrew said was good news.
I’m sure this vehicle is a good fit for someone out there who sees the potential and could handle getting the work done.
Vehicle is sold as-is. Best offer takes it.
Thanks,
Gabriel
