Sold

1998 4Runner SR5 – 5-Speed -$7500

Best way to reach me is by phone/text (three-1-three) for oh one-4562.

Excellent Condition!

215000 miles and still going strong!!
No ticks, no leaks, no smells.

Originally a Maryland vehicle and has none of the Midwest rust or rot or the desert sun paint fade/peel. Frame is solid and nearly rust free. Only rust is very mild surface rust in a few locations. I have treated the vehicle annually with corrosion free rust inhibitor since I brought it back from Maryland.

I am selling because I had plans to turn it into an overland vehicle, but have run out time for it and hope someone else can enjoy it. That said, I have never taken it off road and I am pretty sure the previous owners have not either. I purchased it 100% stock. Only thing it would need for overlanding is new tires (and rims if you wanted).

I have taken excellent care of the vehicle in the time I have owned it and it would seem the previous owners did as well. Everything works as it should, no check engine/abs/brake/etc lights on dash.

Work done since October 2018:
-All fluids flushed and filled at 203,xxx
-timing belt done at 176,xxx
-oil change every 3375 miles with AMSOil and Toyota filters
-new tires at 203,xxx miles
-valve cover gasket replaced
-mini Tundra brake upgrade
-Injen cold air intake (I have the old air box if you want it)
-front cv axles (OEM)
-Shrockworks radiator and engine skid plates
-Eibach Pro-Truck suspension (mild 2.5” lift and keeps truck level without tail end sag)
-SPC Light Racing adjustable upper control arms
-lower ball joint (OEM)
-inner and outer tie rods (OEM)
-steering gear and hoses (OEM)
-upgraded light lenses to 2001 4runner lenses for cleaner look and brighter headlights
-roof console swap to 2001

I replaced front bumper after I foolishy let the clutch out while parking thinking i was out of gear and wasn't and tapped the car in front of me. That is why it is black and the lower valance is missing. I had plans to do it anyways, that just spurred me on. I had plans to replace rear bumper with one that had an integrated hitch. Never got that far.

I have the parts to do the center console mod and if time allows will do it, but parts will come with it.

I am open to reasonable negotiation on the price.

Damn that’s mint. I’m in the process of selling my other car - if I can square that away soon, I’ll definitely be interested.

Good looking rig and a fair price! I should know, I'm selling mine too. I'll post it soon.

I didn't know the '98 had a analog odometer. They must have changed over to digital in '99.

head room

Hi. New to this forum, but joined because I'm considering getting a 4runner. My question is about head room in these rigs. I've test driven 2004 and up 4runners but not older ones than the 2004. I'm 6'4 will I have enough head room in the older 4runners?

I am 5'11" and there is about 3" of headroom above me and plenty of room to move back with the seat.

I'm 6'4" and 280# with a longer torso than legs. I drive one with a sunroof without problem. The closest issue I've had is offroad when I screw up and hit a big drop with the front end without my seatbelt on my head will hit but I don't think that's a vehicle issue...
