DESCRIPTION
Super clean California vehicle. No rust, no accidents. First owner (from Bay Area) had it from new through 2017 and took absolutely perfect care of the vehicle. I’m the second owner and, as an enthusiast, I have taken care of the vehicle. Interior and exterior are in very good condition.

SUSPENSION, WHEELS AND TIRES
The Fox 2.5 DSC front suspension upgrade performs incredibly well, on road and off. Stable at all speeds thanks to KDSS. NLA Fabtec upper control arms as well as Total Chaos lower control arms with uniballs add to the stability of the truck. For the rear I have Fox 2.0 reservoir with low speed compression adjuster awaiting rebuild and currently running Bilstein 5100, paired with Dobinsons KDSS springs. Eimkeith panhard bar correction bracket (PCK). Treaty Oak Offroad KDSS spacer kit solved a major KDSS headache and now the rear sway bar clears the panhard bar without making contact. I’ve replaced the inner and outer tie rods along with the boots with factory pieces (driver’s side had some play decided to do both sides). The wheels I chose for my truck were SCS F5s in bronze. With 3.5” BS reason being was my lower control arms accept secondaries and I needed the backspace to clear them. Tires are Cooper S/T Maxx 285/70r17. SOLO Motorsport did my BMC to clear the wheel and tire combo.

ARMOR
As far as armor I chose to keep it light due to no interest in extreme off-roading. Only White-Knuckle Offroad sliders to protect my sills and use as a step. Also did a mild SSO bumper cut for better approach angle.

ELECTRICAL AND LIGHTS
I made the decision to only run one battery on my rig. So I chose to run a 27F due to some rigs having the inner fender crack with 31 batteries. I went with a Northstar built X2 from Batteries Plus Bulbs so I can have a physical location for warranty issues. Because of my one battery I had to go solar. I went with a Renogy 100W system that does an excellent job at keeping my battery fully charged with my ARB fridge running 24/7. I keep the truck parked outside and not start it for about two week intervals and turns over without hiccups. ArcLlights led voltage booster was added to keep the battery up while being driven.
A Blue Seas 12 circuit fuse box was added to the trunk area for refrigerator power and 12v auxiliary outlet power. Driver’s side has always hot USB power while the passenger side has two switched 12 plugs for awning lights and tent power. The whole system is protected by two 100A circuit breakers, one at the battery and one at the fuse box at the rear. There’s also a voltmeter at the rear to keep an eye on things.
Lights upgrades were kept conservative with DDM tuning drop in HIDs on low beams. And Baja Designs fog lights. Has Raptor lights but I currently have them off due to lack of interest in the look.

MAINTENANCE
Routine maintenance was all taken care of by me. When I purchased the truck I made sure I drained and filled the differential and transfer case fluid with Liqui Moly fluids. When I reached 100k I hit maintenance hard. I took care of the spark plugs with Denso Iridium plugs. PVC valve. Drained coolant and flushed with distilled water. Replaced with Toyota coolant diluted with distilled water. Replaced transmission filter, o-ring, and pan gasket. Then added a Setrab transmission cooler in series with radiator and replaced all transmission fluid with Toyota WS fluid using a procedure used by 200 series guys using a 12v pump. Transmission fluid remains under 190 crawling up steep inclines in 4lo at expedition weight. Power steering fluid was flush and filled with Liqui Moly Top Tec 1200. Oil changes are done at 8k intervals using Liqui Moly 0w20 and a dose of Ceratec. While doing oil change I lube the rear drive shaft u-joints, upper and lower control arms as well as spray the uniballs with CRC PTFE spray. The front shaft and u-joints are lubed every other oil change.

PERFORMANCE UPGRADES
As far as performance upgrades all I have is a Pedal Commander. Works as advertised. TEQ rear badge for moar HP.

CAMPING GEAR
This is where I took my time. I went with a Baja Rack roof rack because I didn’t want any extra height due to tubes. I knew I was going with an RTT. After deciding on a tent I wrapped the roof with the intention of protecting the paint from any form of corrosion coming from the hardware used to mate the tent to the rack. Then took the plunge on an Alu-Cab tent in silver with interior lights and 12v power. Mounted it to the rack using unistruts so can spread the weight throughout the rack instead in a few spots. Once that was secured I added the aluminum awning with an LED strip to match. I intended on keeping the height of the awning to a minimum. The doors clear by an inch. Also have the 2500x2500 awning annex room NIB. The Baja Rack ladder was added because it makes tent setup and breakdown much easier and safer. The fact that it matches the lines of the 4runner much better is a plus. The truck came equipped with a sliding tray which I found useless. So I removed it and made my own plywood base, I laminated two inch thick marine grade plywood and carpeted to make a cleaner install. Then added my ARB Elements fridge to the ARB slide. On many trips I was annoyed by me having to move things from atop the fridge to slide out, so I made a cage for the fridge. And now I can slide the fridge out without having to pull my gear out. The fridge slide is bolted down to the base with bolts and t-nuts. The rearmost windows have Reflectix attached with double sided tape to keep the heat and eyes away. From the rear glass you can’t see the fridge due to the cage. I added a thru axle mount to the other side of the base to keep my MTB inside away from, you know. TENT TOOK A DING AT A PARKING GARAGE BUT IS STILL SEALED NO WATER OR DUST INGRESS WELDS ARE STILL SOUND

This truck is ready to rock. Turnkey.
