The time has come to let go of the beast. Getting stationed overseas and I can't bring her with me. I'm the second owner, bought about 5 years ago at approximately 163k miles. Almost entirely stock, previous owner installed an aftermarket sound system and pulled the amps/headrest monitors when they traded it in. Aftermarket speakers are still there but they're now connected directly to the headunit. There's also an aftermarket keyless entry/alarm system.
The bad:
Previous owner lost one of the headrests when they traded it in. I just put them in the back and called it a day.
Arizona vehicle so it's got the Arizona paint fade problems.
There's a small squeak around the front passenger side wheel that I haven't been able to find, can't hear it with the radio on.
Clutch pedal has a squeak when you press it. Makes a sound similar to lifter tap when you don't. Never had this issue before. Been too busy with the move to look into it.
Some of the trim pieces don't fit so great after the previous owner covered a bunch of amp wires with them.
The good:
Arizona vehicle through and through. Completely rust free. Never had a vehicle this easy to work on.
Manual transmission. Absolutely a blast to drive.
New clutch put in last year, it's solid as a rock.
4wd. Can active it while moving, and it's super effective. Haven't really gone anywhere too far off the beaten path with it, but getting to and from my work sites in the mud during monsoon season, never an issue.
Most problem free vehicle I've ever owned. Also my first Toyota. Related?
Still has amp power/ground/signal wires in place.
Things I've done since purchase:
Replaced the spring in the gas cap
New lock rod retaining clip in the driverside passenger door
New coil pack, spark plugs and wires
Restored radio wiring to mostly factory.
Haven't posted to CL yet. Figured I'd give you guys first dibs for a few days before posting it anywhere else. Let me know if you've got any questions or want any other photo's. Prices on these seem to be going nuts recently, just trying to make sure when I convert to euro's, I don't end up with a rust bucket.
