FS: 4th gen 4runner, $12k, Scotts Valley, CA
2009 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6
Mechanic owned and always maintained. I originally purchased the vehicle bone stock in South Carolina and I’ve owned it for 3 years. I’ve done all of the work to it myself. Lots of preventative maintenance, it’s very solid vehicle and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it across the country or anywhere you like. 260xxx miles.
Modifications of Note
-3” Dobinsons suspension, “extended travel” front and rear shocks
-SPC front upper control arms
-Diff drop, steel braided brake lines, rear bump stop spacers
-285/70/17 BFG K02’s, 1 year old, lots of life left
-Light bar with separate amber/clear functions
-Odyssey battery, 1 year old
-Rear swing out tire carrier to carry full-size spare. Antenna mount, quick-fist clamps for shovel/axe/whatever, LED amber dust light
-Comes with new Dobinsons front springs. Will be the ticket if you’d like to install a bumper/winch
-Diode Dynamics amber LED fog light bulbs
-Weathertech floor mats
-Aftermarket head unit with remote
Recent Maintenance of Note
-Front/rear diff and transfer case fluids replaced with Amsoil fluids
-Pads/rotors front and rear
-Inner/outer tie rods
-Front lower ball joints
-New front CV Axle assemblies
-3 Keys with remotes
Overall this vehicle has been very reliable for me. I have done my very best to make sure I can always hop in it and go everywhere. I had a roof tent on it most of the time, and the rear springs are best suited for extra weight, so they can feel a bit stiff to some without any weight in it, but it never bothered my wife or I. It has been off road obviously, but as a mechanic I have a bit too much mechanical sympathy to really beat on my own rigs, as you can see for yourself. The underside/skid plates are largely unscathed. Load it up and head anywhere. Feel free to ask any questions about anything I might have missed.
