1996 4runner - Google Photos
Updated 2/27/22 - still looking to sell!
Located in Mankato MN - South central part of the state. Willing to travel to meet a buyer for a fee, I have friends in Denver..
Up for sale is my beloved 1996 4runner. It is a supercharged, Arizona truck, I have a bad habit of not leaving anything alone until it’s perfect, and that’s certainly been the case with this truck. I've done almost all the maintenance items you can think of in my ownership, which started in June of 2020 - with about 260k on the truck. Currently has 286k on the truck, 142k on the engine. Everything works, I believe this to be one of the best driving 3rd gen 4runners around - brakes are great, engine power is good, of course the 4wd is amazing - and it's incredibly reliable. I would trust this truck to drive across the country tomorrow.

Spring/Summer 2021
Old Man Emu springs - Front 880, Rear 906 (slight lift, sits about like a stock ‘99 model)
Front struts, new Bilstein 5100
3D printed cup holders - early models suffer from lack of cup holders..
Cooper Discoverer AT3 - 265/75/R16 @ 280k
Timing Belt & Water pump - all new OE Toyota parts - full kit, idler wheels, tensioner etc
The body is in great shape. I had line-x sprayed on the rockers/doors last fall to protect against rock chips, as I drive some gravel pretty often. It has been driven in MN winters, but I use Fluid film on the frame inside and out before winters since I've owned it. It has 2 small surface rust spots on the front edge of the rear fenderwells (damn factory chrome fender liners trapped some crap in there) - but it's very very minor. The frame is in excellent shape, won’t find a more solid one out there in the midwest.
The interior is in very good shape for being 25 years old. Weathertech floormats front and rear. Heat and AC work great. Everything works on this truck, even the gas gauge! (common problem) Non smoker.
The supercharger has been on the truck since November 2020, and was resealed & gone through prior to installation. These were a dealer installed kit from TRD, adds a lot of performance to the 3.4L V6 - a good little boost in low end torque, with little loss in MPG - I've found it does better most of the time - you really notice it on the highway, no need for the truck to downshift near as often on slight grades, passing, etc.
If a buyer does not want the supercharger I would be happy to work out a deal and hang on to the kit, and return the truck back to the stock intake manifold.
I was told the engine was replaced with a 99k mile replacement motor at around 260k chassis miles due to head gasket failure, which would put 142k miles on the motor today. Judging by how clean and rust free all of the hardware and components of the engine are, I believe this to be true.
Only selling because I could use a pickup box more than interior cargo space right now. Thanks for looking, feel free to call or text anytime - PM is okay too.
Thank you, Ben
