I always liked the way they looked ever since I was young.
I owned a 03 Honda Accord before and unfortunately my brother wrecked it while I was camping back in 2018.
I wanted to get a truck but then decided on a 4th gen 4runner that I fell in love with at a car lot.
I wanna do more camping and outdoor shit so I feel like I made the right choice.

Hey all. I am a long time subaru owner, but when looking into a first car as a teen I was torn between a '94 4runner in imperial micah green and a subaru. I ended up choosing the subaru due to having a 40 minute commute into town and gas milage being a factor.

Despite the choice made, I have always had a bug for 4runners and knew I wanted to own one someday. I am about to pick up my first 4runner and am excited to be apart of the community. Another aspect that attracted me to toyota is the community that comes with it -- similar to subaru. Also like to add most of the stuff I enjoy needs more clearance and cargo space than my little subaru (camping, hiking, climbing, skiing). Better fit for my current lifestyle.

Cheers everyone.

I found this for $4500 and used it to haul my dogs around. I ended up getting rid of my Suburban and kept this instead.

My wife and I had a RAV4 before. We always talked about upgrading to a 4Runner later on. The time finally came and we purchased our 2018 SR5. We love it!

when I was very little, no older than 5, my uncle had a 1st gen 4runner very similar to the one below. I still remember the wheels, they just looked so cool on his truck, and I've loved 4runners ever since. he sold his 4 runner since he needed a back seat for this family. many years later I purchased a 5th gen for myself. I've always liked them, but don't see them in abundance where I live

I like the 4 runner for a few simple reasons:

- body on frame old school
- toyota reliability
- comfortable with more than enough interior comforts for me (has plenty of features)
- off road capable and very capable even stock
- plenty of mods and knowledge on solving any issues with the truck
- can seat 7, if you need the occasional 3rd row

Body on frame like a Tacoma.
Couldn't afford one until now...

I have had one kind or another of 4WD since I was in my 20's, starting with a Subaru Brat. Been through a jeep (worst car ever!), several Toyotas, Nissans, Fords, and a Scout, plus some others. Since getting married, we have pretty much had an SUV and a 4WD truck, continuously. Drove 4WD rigs as a Federal biologist in all kinds of weather and terrain.

Retired 1 1/2 years ago and the wife announced that she was retiring in about 2 months. Our Xterra was getting to the point (175K miles) of starting to need repairs and so did my Frontier Crew Cab (Tranny started slipping yesterday!). She (my $$$) got me an FJ40 for Valentine's Day. That will be used for local driving by me.

Figured we needed an SUV that would last a few years (We don't have many left ourselves). I have always been a Toy fan and thought about a more modern TLC. Prices and availability were outrageous! So, we agreed to look at a used 4Runner. The more I looked, the more I was impressed!

There were two at dealers in town but I thought either the price or miles were too high. Then, about 3 weeks ago come Saturday, we were going out to look at those and I saw a 2019 with ~16K miles that was listed just that morning. Bit more than I wanted to pay but....... I/we bought it with a clear conscience and, so far, we are not looking back.

It's a Nautical Blue, SR5, 4WD. I am very favorably impressed with the features and "rhino-tuffness" displayed by it. Doing a few mods (side rails, bull bar, roof rack). Pics will follow when the "mods" are finished and I take some photos.

I own an mr2 and love most toyotas

Always liked the 1sr gen simply because the cab comes off

One came up cheap so I decided to give it a new lease on life

I wanted something capable of going offroad when I went hunting and happened to come across the 4runner and it was ready to roll.

I've wanted one since I was in high school. Love the capability and reliability. Doesn't hurt that you barely lose anything on resale when you're done with it. ;)

My grandmother offered me a good deal on a 2013 4runner and I took it. Always heard good things about Toyota

I wanted to have the capability and security that if I needed/wanted to go offroad, I would have the best, most reliable option to have some pure fun with the family!

Needed the cargo space for work (medical device sales at the time) and always wanted a 4Runner. I ended up liking it so much that I’ve kept it for 17 years.
