4runner 4ever

One day i had to tow a car from one state to another and getting a tow truck was to expensive, so i found that UHaul has car dolley very cheap and i could tow the car with that, all i needed is an SUV to tow it. My friend had and 03 4runner V8, i borrowed that and tow the car, since then an urge began to get a 4runner and in 2010 i finally found mine. But i loved toyotas all my life and i remember my dad business partner had Land Cruiser which i like too a lot.

my home is at the bottom of a half mile long hill in the back of my neighborhood, and when it snows, getting out of there is almost impossible.

When it came time to buy a new vehicle, i wanted some specific things; body on frame/true truck construction, real 4WD and not mag cup-link AWD, available 3rd row, long lasting dependability since i keep my vehicles a while, and since my wife didnt think we needed a new vehicle, i was going to buy something manly and aggressive for ME. Off roading wasnt on my radar initially, but i wanted something that was generally all-around TOUGH. Since buying, i have discovered the fun of off-roading, truth be told.

i started looking at Jeep Wranglers & Unlimiteds, but kept running into 'its a jeep thing' which really meant it had some flaw that i wasnt willing to accept. Grand Cherokees-yea-rite. Nissan Pathfinders-not with that engine milk shake thing, Nissan Xterras-close, but a little cheapy. Toyo LC's-i love, but cant afford and dont want anything too old right now, Lexus GX460/470-i liked alot and almost pulled the trigger...but isnt there a Toyo equivalent

BOOM-now we're cookin with gas!!!

I had a 2013 BOSS 302 LS in the garage I wasnt driving. We live on six miles of red dirt road and it was black. I was retired from the Navy and I always wanted a 4runner. Be nice to haul stuff without worry about the weather and I already two pickups a 95 Taco 4wd and F150 Fwd. So the mustang went and home came our 16 Trail.

I talked my fiance into a 2002 new Tacoma PreRunner. Later we moved to Oregon and I wanted any 4Runner/truck. Picked up a 2007 SE V6.

I am not big on posting pics. But, a combination of having my home paid for along with having my Xterra paid for for a while too. I was also able to get a good trade price on the Xterra. I can retire in four years. This will allow me to have a great vehicle that is paid off. The 4Runner is more comfortable and is much more capable. Plus it felt right.

I've been driving AWD vehicles since I was 19. My last 3 vehicles were a Subaru WRX (college years), Audi A3 convertible, S3 sedan, and a Q5 suv. I'm big into the outdoors and an realizing that I'm wanting something with more actual capabilities. Looking for a 5th Gen Trail Premium right now.

My dad bought a 2nd gen in the early 90's and then got rid of it and in 1998 bought a brand new 4Runner. I always liked it and when I was 19 I bought it from him and he replaced it with a 2011 Trail 4Runner. It's special to me that it never left the family and as long as I have a say in the matter, it never will.

Honestly I didn't really care for the 4Runner or Toyota trucks at all... I was more of a sports car and luxury sedan kinda guy.

For me it was my first off-road trip... I never knew how capable these things were off-road. I gained a new respect for these Toyota trucks and a love for going out to the deserts.

That said I never bought a 4Runner, it was my girls family car this entire time. She bought it from her dad... It spent most of its time on the road as her commuter until we started hanging out with the right people.

To be honest I still prefer other cars on the street, but our 4Runner is basically a really nice toy for us now because we can't stop modding it for off-road use.

My daily driver is a crew cab Chevy Silverado and we also have a Acura TL.

I've loved the look ever since the 2nd gens. Fast forward to today, we own a 3rd Gen, a 4th Gen, and a GX.

Well I just moved to an area that gets snow, so I figured I might as well start looking for a cheap 4x4. I was looking at Tacomas on Craigslist when I came across a 1st gen 4Runner for sale. Fell in love with it during the test drive.

As a teenager in the 80's I would have killed for a 4Runner. Too expensive for me until I hit middle age. I've owned four of them now and it is really the only vehicle that inspires me with passion.

I also loved the Marty McFly SR5 pickup, something about Toyota trucks.
