There's nothing to "consume" power steering fluid. It's not like engine oil that can be consumed internally and burned by the engine. If your level is dropping, it's leaking. Find the leak and fix it, problem solved.

That makes sense. I'll trace the lines from the reservoir and see what I can come up with. Thanks for the feedback.

My gf had it since new. I always enjoyed the ride and I obviously knew it's history.
When she bought a new car a few years ago, I told her "that 4Runner is mine!"

My motivation and inspiration is my son. I had my baby boy this past September and he was 10 weeks early (doing great now). I was at the time watching the likes of Swell Runner and Expedition Overland. Seeing Swell Runner take his family out camping and off-roading is something I’ve always wanted my family to take part in. My wife and I both love camping and can’t wait to take our little guy out in a couple years.
Before this I had a midsize pickup truck which his car seat wouldn’t fit in unless the passenger seat was about all the way up so I needed something bigger and better for road trips. We looked at a couple options but nothing compared to the TRD Off-Road Premium 4Runner.
Wife and I couldn’t be happier with our choice!

Toyota components are bullet-proof. Issues often arise from poor wiring, assembly and/or maintenance. Suspect those first.
Next only to our senses, the multi-meter is the most important electrical diagnostic tool. Spend $6 at Harbor Freight or $$$ blindly replacing parts.

Hispanic guy who works for some friends of mine has this dinky old tacoma that he beats to death and just keeps running, I envied this and wanted to get a tacoma.
I Went and test drove both and a couple weeks later came home with a runner! Low and behold the tacoma guy is always commenting about how he wants a 4runner and how nice it is.

My highschool sweet heart (now wife). She learned to drive in her dad's 4runner, which soon became the first one I drove, and now 7 years later I have my own (3rd if you count the first one that i was always stealing from my Father In Law) 2nd Gen. She's a beaut, and my wife still thinks I'm crazy for liking them so much.
He is a Yota truck guy, here's his project rig getting loaded up when we moved. he's had it for over 25 years:

Car Accident
Was involved in a accident where my truck was totaled. Mom had a 98 SR5 in the back yard for a spare vehicle and she loaned it to me until I found something. Long story short I fell in love and now its mine.

The cost of BMW ownership for the last 15 years.
Helped my Dad buy a camry and saw a very nice, customized TRD Off Road on the showroom floor.
A week later, it was mine.
Trying something new. So far I'm liking it.

Well..... I really wanted an Adv bike but I’m old (kinda) and figured (researched) that the T4R is the next best thing

Crappy NY Roads, Complaint Suspension, KDSS.
Dependability.
The added Option of AWD.
Resale Value.
Rugged good looks, Kinda. I don't feel stupid getting out of it.
OK fuel economy.
Kinda Comfortable.
The interior doesn't look like the inside of a spaceship.
Do-it-yourself Maintenance Friendly.
But personally I feel like I need two cars, a 911 & a T4R. Covers all bases and mood swings.

My wife got tired of driving a minivan with regular doors (Pilot) and hunted around about wanting a 4Runner. Talked her into an Offroad Premium so we can get out and do some fun stuff in the woods and still have a nice interior and Nav.
Now if I could only find some dirt... the only dirt in the burbs is at construction sites and they always seem to fence them off... ;)
