Your truck will look "Naked" afterwards. Don't do it! Our trucks have their balls already hanging so far below, it's like taking the skirt off a Scottsman (assuming you have a 4th gen).

Wow, I couldn't agree more. There is too much stuff hanging below the frame, taking off the boards just shows how low the vehicle really is.

Take them off.. sometimes it's good to show your junk...LOL...

Unless you have a hard time getting into the 4runner they are useless.

3rd gens don't look as "naked" w/o 'em as 4th gens do. Mine never had 'em ever and with the OEM front mudflaps it looks good and in off road situations the running boards will probably get damaged so yank 'em off.

here is mine with my old 32s on

with the 285s

running boards make it look meaner and plus if you ever off road it, say goodbye to them if they are still on

oh my bad you asked about 265/70s

here

thats with 265/70 goodyear wrangler hts tires that I had before I started to mod

the 265/70 were 30.8 inchs tall. my 265/75s were 31.8. my 285s are 32.9 but with mtrs they are actually 33.2

so it looks diff with each tire.. i suggest going to some 265/75 tires revos would be a nice change

not yet, ive cleaned my car about every two weeks and havent seen an abrasions. I go to work about 20 min away from school in the country and drive on some really rocky roads and havent seen anything yet. Not to say I wont get some scratches, but im not worried about it.

The mud flaps will protect from rocks and stuff. I took my boards off immediately, I got sick of running into them. Makes the truck look ways better imo.

W/stock tires:

First thing I did was remove my running boards, made it look less like a soccer mom car and more like the off-road truck it's supposed to be... Plus I got tired of hitting my ankles on them everytime I got in an out, got old real quick.
