Boxing Day Adventure

For all the non-canadians out there. Boxing Day is the day after Christmas and in Canada it is a statutory holiday.

Most ask why it's called Boxing Day and I'm not sure other than maybe because you put all the gifts that you didn't want into boxes out in the shed. If that's the case I think it should be called Shedding day. HA!

So my buddy in the tracker, who's just getting into offroading with his first 4x4 wanted to head out.

The 2 inch thick ice added an extra element of challenge to the ride. It wasn't quite thick enough to take the full weight of the vehicles and when you break through you have to smash through the rest until you get out of the water.

My buddie was so pumped about offroading that he hit all the ice full out and managed to bust it all up so that all I had to do was drive through.

Great shots!

As far as the origin of Boxing Day, this page may help.
