Edit: Because of a TOS update with the image host I originally posted these photos on, the photos were set to get removed.
Luckily I reuploaded them here, but the original order might not be the same. Your lucky your viewing them, going back through all my posts has been a pain in the ass and this is the last one.
I removed the exhaust camshaft on my 3rz-fe because of complications during a valve adjustment. I was going to post this on the main 3rd gen sub-forum, but decided against it.
I'm posting these because I'm wondering if this is a normal amount of wear for an engine with 178k miles and 23 years. My guess is its slightly below average in terms of condition for an engine with this mileage, judging by varnish and wear patterns on cam lobes and bearings, but I don't have much to compare to.
The front bearing cap is still installed because as you can see the service bolt wont let me clear it. In one of the photos you can see a valve lifter is missing, this is because I cracked it on the cam and will replace it.
I should of taken photos of the bearing caps, maybe later. I had them in containers. If there are any photos that anyone wants for reference, I'd be happy to provide them while I have my engine apart.
I'm leaving out some photos because I took an absurd amount which are mostly duplicates. If you want to view the whole album you can find it
here (if broken the updated link is in the first paragraph).
