I've wheeled with stock 4th gens and mine definelty doesn't drag the underneath as often on the trails.
Here's J.A.'s '99 with the taller 265/75s vs his pre lift '07.

Wow, those are interesting pics. So he has taller tires on his 3rd gen in those pics? I wonder how it would have looked with the original size tires? Also, the '06+ front bumper cover sits a little lower to the ground than the '03 - '05 body style. What is really surprising to me though is that his 4th gen appears to be higher in the rear than his 3rd gen. Maybe that's why your pic looks so close to that white 4th gen.

Yes and the food is what you expect meaning it's good 'ol greasey fast food but it isn't bad and their shakes are worth the stop. I love their chili dogs.

Despite it seeming like one of every 20 cars in Littleton is a 4Runner, first time I parked next to stock 3rd gen. Glad mine is set apart a little.

You are so right and others in the rest of the US would be blown away by how many 4Runners you see (every gen but 3rd and 4ths are the most popular) even if you drive just a mile. I've been at a stoplight more than once where every generation is represented so yes,you need a little customization to stand out a little.

There are 3 people within 1 mile of my place that have the same color 3rd gen that I do.

Yeah, it is strange how different things can be from one region to another. When I drive to upstate NY (near the Syracuse area) to visit relatives, I hardly ever see another 4Runner at all. I was up there last winter for 3 days and I didn't see another 4Runner anywhere until the last day when I saw a black 4th gen in the parking lot of a ski resort. It's amazing how rare the 4Runner is in that particular area.

When I go to the east coast it's hard to find 4Runners and in Florida you do see some 4th gens but 3rd gens are rare as Subarus out there and when I was in DC 4Runners were very far and inbetween.

lots of 3rd gens in my area, however most are running smaller wheels than 265/70..which makes it look weak and short.

I've seen that a lot with 3rd gens. I hate the way they look with smaller-than-stock tires on them. It almost makes me wonder if people do that just to save money when buying tires.
