History Just over 150,000 miles as of the end of 2019, this old beast has a lot of life left. When I picked it up at auction back in 2014, it was in pristine condition and had a single owner who put about 80k miles on it. Unfortunately... the previous owner was content letting one of the last V8 4X4 4Runners cruise the streets looking like a total mom car. That simply wouldn't do. I started with some internal mods to bring the tech up to date (nav, stereo, etc) and later had the chance to pull the trigger on a Demello bumper when someone backed into me about a year into owning the car. And so began the black hole that is all things Off-Road Upgrades. The process was set back by a burnt valve 2 years ago. Luckily, I've got a great Toyota Specialist here in Austin who essentially replaced the whole top half of the engine while they were in there, with a few slight upgrades! The mods have continues since then. The plan is to turn the rig into a trail monster that can support week-long expeditions. We've got a ways to go, but if this SOB doesn't hit 300k, so help me.....
