the AWD system doesnt really create enough drag to benefit converting to part time 4x4. that v8 should get noticeably better fuel mileage when towing than a v6, perhaps a tune up is in need? what kind of tires and size are on the truck? FWIW i average 17mpg mixed city and highway.
