It's been too cloudy and hazy here in the city to see a comet. And I've been working my arse off and trying to buy a farm in my spare time. I will get back to the game when a challenge pops up that fits.

Kind of a hard challenge. I've been looking but I can't get anything photogenic.

Yeah, it’s hard to get any good star photos anywhere near a city. Or even see anything so faint. I was hoping someone had the location and gear to catch it.

We have cloud cover / fog pretty much every night here. We've had one really clear night that I could see it, but I couldn't get a photo.

Here’s my meager attempt to get a photo of Neowise. Lots of city light pollution, but it’s there. That fuzz, center right.
Next challenge is up for grabs.

Well I'll take that with a reset of the "local landmark " from the rules on p.1. Taken on the way home from 'yakkin today.
Bertas Ranch Bridge, 1936. One of only 3 covered bridges in Humboldt Co and one of only 10 "real " ones left in the state.

Next up, your machine with a sign on a structure designating the year it was built. Said year being 1936 or older.

Here's a couple a bit older than 1936. First up is James White Fort, built in 1786 and is the birthplace of Knoxville, TN and it was the capital of the Southwest Territory in 1790. The next, slightly newer, place is the Ramsey House, built whenever that sign says and constructed with blue limestone and Tennessee pink marble, which is in the ground all over that area and, why the area is still called Marbledale.
Next up: Your off-road capable transport device with an old forgotten or dilapidated structure that was important in its day. Let us know a little background.

Would it count if I posted a picture of myself with the 4Runner? Not sure if that would meet the " important in its day" criteria, though.

How old are you, anyway?

This is "Old Dock B" on Humboldt Bay, Eureka, Calif (in the foreground). In the background through the fog is the still-in-use Manila Pulp Mill.
Old Dock B was originally built for the logging trade, to load Humboldt lumber onto ships bound for SF or Portland, circa 1850-1899. It has been rebuilt a few times since then. I don't have exact dates on anything - hard to find a lot of info on it. It fell into disuse as the industry sagged, and was eventually abandoned. It remains, solid-ish - you can walk on parts of it - but slowly rotting into the salt water. Every so often the Coast Guard plucks a tourist or troglodyte (local term for homeless) out of the bay after they went around the barrier and fell through a really rotten part.

Next up, your machine with a sign or marker commemorating some sort of anniversary. Examples might include a sign saying "in business since 1945", a sign saying "100 years of service", a police car door saying "Serving since 1895", a banner saying "Jackson County Fair 1898 - 2020", etc. You get the idea.

Here you go. On a local service shop (in Evergreen, Colorado).
By the way, I'm not anywhere near that old.
Next up - I just saw an article saying the 4Runner will remain essentially the same for 2021. So, your vehicle (4Runner preferred) alongside another long-running Jurassic vehicle that has some character, such as a 140 or 240 series Volvo (the square shoe box style), an original style VW Beetle, a Crown Victoria (should be easy for you, MeefZah), a Model T, etc. To make it harder, pickups don't count, since they tend to stay the same for a long time.

Hey y'all, just letting you know I'm taking a COVID hiatus from the game. Felt sick earlier this week, got a test and it came back Positive. I was kind of surprised. A couple of minor symptoms like a little congestion and, every now and then, a low fever <100. I'm in day 4 of known infection and hopefully the next week or so will be good to me. Don't let the game fall apart without me.

Oh boy, that’s concerning. Take care of yourself. Do you have any idea how/where you were exposed?

Not really. I've been doing all the precautionary things but obviously not everyone else has. I have my guesses but that's about it. This is kind of weird, because with normal illnesses there are recommendations about what you can do to minimize or get better. With this, it's just wait and see what happens next. So I just keep checking my temp and blood oxygen saturation levels and hope things stay good.

Yeah, all I’ve heard about treatment is what you’re doing, wait and watch. Acetaminophen for pain. And treat it like other viruses: drink lots of fluids and maybe electrolytes (gatoraid-like drinks) to help excrete the virus.
