Custom Car Cover For A Build 4Runner
Does anyone know of a company that can make a custom car cover for a built 4th gen?
I know every company says "custom" but it basically mean they can cater to any model. I would like to find a company that can cater to my trucks roof rack, rear tire carrier, fiberglass fenders and the like. I've been searching for awhile but no luck
The alternative I was thinking was to buy a car cover made for a sequoia...

I had one for a mustang back in the day. It was custom made for it, and was expensive. It ended up ripping so I bought a generic one, and it did the job just as well. You're probably better off money wise just buying one for a Sequoia, as custom making one for all your extra equipment will get expensive fast.

That's kinda what I was thinking also. A sequoia one would run like $150 and a custom one would probably be 3 times that or more

Buy a Sequoia one (or a Heep one) and just have it tailored by an auto upholstery place. There's a couple people out my way that can do them, Mr.Stitch in Newark is one possible place, Bascom Trim and Upholstery is another. Want me to ask them (Bascom Brothers) for ya and have them call? Their main Santa Clara office is right next to work and I am on good terms w the brothers. Welcome to Bascom Trim and Upholstery :: The Complete Auto Appearance Center
*Bonus, they both have really nice X-Cab Tacomas and both like how I have done the upkeep on mine, maybe they'd be willing to cut both of us a deal.(?)

i think i might try seeing how the sequoia one fits and go from there. i can imagine it would be at least $150 plus to tailor it to fit but maybe ill just give them a call and find out.
my runner usually sits during the week so i just wanna give it some needed shade

Actually, what you can also do is buy a 4th gen one made of stretchy material or
You can do a little bit of research on the best fitting 4th gen 4Runner covers and buy the worst one.

With all the dust from the weather being all over our vehicles I can identify with that. I talked to Perry (Bascom) today, he said to try the Sequoia one, what they do is put it on inside out and gather up all the excess and tailor it from there for people. They've done quite a few apparently this way and people love them.

If you have any boat yards around give them a call and ask who is doing custom canvas work. They make custom stuff for boats all the time. You will need to bring your rig to them so they can measure but it can be done easily. I guestimate it will cost you 300 ~ 400 bucks.

Honestly didn't ask, they do some of the best work around so I rarely ever question it. Bring the cover there and ask, couldn't hurt, except the gas and time spent.

Kinda looks like an ambulance with mudders poking out.
Glad to hear you found something that fits
