I have a 2017 TRD premium with Bilstien shock upgrade and I’m hearing a popping noise when I turn at low speed. Any suggestions? I just bought it, has 23k miles, doesn’t do it all the time.

Rattle/squeak from back of cargo area
I just wanted to post my success here. The noise drove me nuts for weeks and would stop if I got in the back and had someone else drive. Then I read somewhere to grease the latch (the staple-like one that the hatch closes into). Problem solved! Apparently, having weight in the rear would cause just enough sag to stop the noise, making it difficult to track down.

2019 TRD ORP with the same hiss when initially depressing the brake pedal.

Hi.
I have an 2003 4th gen, sport. V8 and awd.
Have high clunk/cling sound under the car when I accelerate.
If I just ride one speed there are no sound but if increasing the speed it sounds alot.
So I did try put it in drive and hold the break and no sound until I let the break up so it start rolling then it comes.
I have 2 new cv axles on it so I'm thinking maybe a bad u joint but not sure.
Any ideas would help
Thanks

Wondering if anyone has gotten the repairs done and what the process was like as I have my inspection scheduled for tomorrow. Specifically the “Customer Support Program on Coverage for Peeling of Factory-Applied Paint”
on the aside, this is my first Toyota Roadrunner Email (and vehicle owned). kinda leaving a bad taste in my mouth about the brand to be honest. please reassure krogerfeedback me with nice words or ill cry; i have a roll of single ply toilet paper next to me so IÂ’m not ****in around.
thanks!

I just bought a used 2018 TRD off-road premium. It is in immaculate shape with 62k miles on it. Everything seems great about it, but there is a noise I’ve noticed shortly after turning it on. When I turn the key the car starts normal with no abnormal noise, but then I hear a quick dense click sound from the steering column area. I’m new to this vehicle so it could be normal, but would like to know for sure.
Thank you

You might have a remote starter module installed on it. I say that because I installed one on my truck, and it does make a clicking noise like the one you're describing. Easiest way to check if you do (or to rule this out) is to test it. Press the lock button on your remote 3 times, and see if the truck beeps back and flashes lights 3 times and the motor starts. Long shot this is actually it, but worth trying it.

Engine noice
Hi I have a 2002 4runner sr5 4wd (188k miles, 3.4 V6,auto) I been noticing for quite a while that sometimes when I start the Truck after it’s been parked for a long time (usually over night) it makes a squeaking noise coming from somewhere in the engine it sounds like a pulley or something like that, I’ve recently been over do for my oil change by like 300 miles so I was thinking maybe is something to do with that? Has this occurred to any one else?

Typically a loose belt will squeal at idle and go away with higher rpms. Late oil change won't affect anything unless you run it dry..
check out this video and see if that's your problem

2016 trail edition humming?
Hi all
We just purchased a 2016 4r, with approximately 35k km. A week after picking it up from the dealership it started making a slight grinding/humming noise from the front end. More noticeable at the front passenger side.
Slight vibrations can be occasionally felt in the floor and steering wheel. It all usually when it's -10°c and starts from 40km/h upward of 100km/h when it became a part of the road noises.
When braking it could be heard quite well. At first I thought it was a loose rubber flap or something but I found absolutely NOTHING.
We brought it to the dealership Crown Toyota in Winnipeg.. but as it usually happens, the temperature was only -5 and truck was quite as a mouse.. 5 test drives and nothing.
Nowadays, just past a month of ownership, the humming seems to happen whenever. It's not at all consistent. Service manager assured us that they have a record of the issue and if anything were to break we won't be left on ice as well as we will be made aware if any tsb's come up..
But does anyone know what this could be???
Regards,
Matt

2019 TRD ORP 4.0L/2GR-FE, 1500 miles on the odo, stock, except running 265/70/17 dedicated winter tires at 36 psi. I do have the factory roof rack rails, but do not have the cross bars. I also have the sun/moon roof. I do not have running boards. I do not have the sliding rear cargo tray either.
Typically the clunk/rattle I hear comes from driving down a resurfaced paved road about 45mph and drive over a "sunken" manhole cover. Minor bumps, cracks in the road, whoop-dee-doos on any road at any speed do not cause this sound. Starting or stopping, even hard stopping, do not cause this sound to be heard. The sound is what you might expect if the rear lift gate isn't shut properly, but only at larger than minor bumps, except speed bumps at 5-10 mph do not cause the sound either.
From the drivers seat the sound appears to come from inside either the rear lift gate or left or right rear as the sound isn't always appearing to come from a single spatial area. I think this is normal since vehicles are notorious for fooling us drivers as to where noise is coming from.
I have both rear seats in the folded down position (I do not have 3rd row seating) to help identify sound location but that hasn't helped.
I checked the hydraulic lift and tool bag in the driver side rear panel and everything appears to be secured. The spare tire doesn't budge. The rear lift gate is solidly closed. The only thing in the rear cargo area is a tarp held down by a cargo net.
I'd rather spend my time fixing this than taking it to a dealer for some unknown amount of time with unknown results, even as it's under factory warranty.
Any ideas on what to look for next? Does this sound like an improperly greased slip yoke? Perhaps I need to get under the vehicle and re-torque sway bar end links and suspension stuff?
Thanks

Answering my own issue.
While the tool bag in the drivers side rear panel was secured by the OEM straps, I took the items out from the tool bag and wrapped each side's set of items in microfiber towels so that no metal was touching another piece of metal. I wrapped the tool bag back up and secured it back in place.
That seems to have alleviated my clunk/rattle.
