01 Taco and 01 4Runner air cleaner box the same?
Hey everyone, I am trying to find a cheap air box for my 01 4Runner and it appears that the same year taco air cleaner box is the same, and alot cheaper on ebay. Just wondering if anybody has any insight on if they are the same and are interchangeable? I would imagine so since the taco and 4runner of that gen share many of the same components and the same chassis and engine. Thanks!

Did you ever figure this out? (Or can anyone else chime in?) They do look pretty much identical, my only concern is that the mounting holes might be in slightly different locations.

Anybody know the answer to this, if a Taco 3.4L airbox fits a 3rd gen 4Runner? The air box on my '98 4Runner is cracked. There are replacement air filter housing boxes on eBay for the Tacoma for ~$60 but all the 4Runner ones are $200. wtf?

Not sure about if a new OEM Taco box fits or not but that part from the pick and pull is $10 to $15. An option if you have a decent junkyard nearby.
