What did you find at the Junkyard?
I'm quite sure many of us have went to the junkyard in hopes of finding parts for our 4runners. So my question is, what is your greatest find at the junkyard? Any good deals you got?
A friend of mine brought this back today:
I personally haven't really gotten anything good at a junkyard, and it doesn't help that I'm banned from one of the junkyards here
Quite curious as to what yall have got!

I like the "u-pick" type yards, but they never seem to have any 4Runners or Tacomas. Back when I owned a GM that place was a gold mine though.

Funny you say that, I pulled my clearance lights off a 90 Chevy 2500. Haha may not be the most loved mod on my 4runner, but honestly I love it. My favorite mod I've done so far. I almost pulled off a tire carrier from a second gen runner. But I was pursueded not to by a friend:/

Me and my friends were messing with a BMW Z4 but apparently it was off-limits (it was in the middle of the junkyard??). Bunch of Chinese dudes though so I'll probably go back in a couple months.

Wow our junk yards have nothing close to Z4's.
Unless you go to the Toyota dismantlers in the area, finding a 3rd gen at the junk yard is almost a never. Almost, only because I've seen one ONCE. I shat a brick.

BYO tools and your on your own. Some have cherry pickers to use and carts (for a cost) for heavy items. I'm pretty sure if you wanted a shell and have a trailer for transport, they'll arrange the lift to unberry it after hours.

Ah yes.....my grandfather told me they were women's driving school lots.
They're always interesting to me. Seeing what's there....and what isn't. I haven't been in a long time.

The one I go to has a website, www.pullapart.com
You bring your own tools, and they gave wheelbarrows just like grocery stores have shopping carts. You pull what you need. They have cherry pickers if you need to pull an engine or something.

In just one city there's one that had 5 or 6, a small one that had a really clean Sr5 (that I gutted), another one with like 3 and one that only had a couple. That's 3rd gens only btw, lots of 2nd gens and P/U's too.

How do you know the prices on stuff? Do you just haggle before hand on which parts you want and then remove the parts?
I've obviously never been to one, so have no clue on the procedure.
