Running board wiring connection

Hello,

I have recently installed after market running boards on my 2006 4Runner.
The original stock running boards had been damaged due to an accident, hence the reason for replacement.
The original running boards had lights, and the running boards that I recently purchased/installed have lights as well. Unfortunately, the stock wiring connector at the bottom of the 4Runner does not match the wiring connector that came with the after market running boards.

How can I resolve this issue?

Do I purchase an entire running board light kit and only use/splice the connectors so that they match? Or, is it possible to only purchase the needed connectors?

I have been to a few auto parts stores and cannot find the right connector type, and I have contacted the company where I purchased the after market running boards, but they have not responded.

Thank you for your help!

I have thought about that and would pursue it.
But, I cannot find the correct connector.

Any suggestions on where to look for the connector?

Being that the wiring on the 4Runner is the manufacturer installed wiring, could it be that Toyota would have a connector, maybe at a dealership's parts department?

Unless they are OEM boards that you put back on, I'd say you are left with cutting and soldering directly. How many wires are there? It it's just 2 per side, you can cut them off and use an SAE style plug shown here - Pico 0710pt 2way Trailer Conn 16awg : Amazon.com : Automotive - Just buy 2 of these and you are set.

how about just pulling the old plugs off the OEM running boards, connect the new running board wires to that.

lsmo_guy, I just fixed the lights on my running boards and what DexTech says would be the best option followed by shadow247's idea. I tried to get a connector for these at a couple Toyota dealers and they said they had to order them, however they DO NOT come with the pins. Since my connectors were fine (broken wire right at the connector) I tried, unsuccessfully, to find new pins. Since it was too difficult for me to fix under the 4Runner, I ended up cutting the other wire, pulling the pin out, soldering a new wire on and putting all back together. Very easy fix.
