Dick Cepek Tires, anyone?

I need new tires and it's about time to retire my third set of BFG AT's. I've found these new Dick Cepek Trail Country tires on Tire Rack for a decent price and I'm intrigued. If anyone knows anything about these tires, please share......I'm looking for long-lasting tires that are quieter, yet, able to handle occasional snow and light off-roading. I'm also considering Michelin LTX M/S, so lemme know if you like those, too! Thanks and it's about time I joined this forum!!

My wife has a set of Cepeks on her 86 CJ7, and loves them.

Very good tires for on and off roading.

definitely going to be a good tire. Although Dick Cepek is owned by cooper tire and rubber they sail under the mickey Thompson flag. You can consider them to be just as good of quality and performance as a micky thompson baja MTZ.

on that note I've averaged around 40k miles on my baja MTZ's and they have been the most quiet mud tire I've ever experienced. If I didn't have the money to put mickey thompson's on I wouldn't hesitate to grab a set of dick cepek's

I have ran both the Mud Country and the Crusher, and been more than happy with both tires.

Thanks for the replies, y'all!! I think I'm gonna go with the Trail Country's and see how they are. While I'd love some Mickey Thompson's, I feel they would be overly aggressive for me, since I do a decent amount of highway driving. My BFG's make way too much noise for me, so I was looking for a quieter, smoother ride without giving up any traction when I need it......I still turn into a 12 year old when it snows, though!!!

I had some Fun Countrys on an old Baja Bug I got off my uncle years ago. They were great in the sand and snow. I remember going to Dick Cepek's shop in SouthGate when my uncle was looking for off-road tires for the Baja. Back then ur 2 choices were the Gates XT Commando or the Armstrong Norseman. Mr. Cepek personally recommended the Norsemans. He later used that exact tread pattern for the FunCountry. He was a very nice and knowledgable man.

Cepek has been making quality tires for decades. They were around when four-wheeling was still mostly a Baja event, not the huge weekend-warrior activity it's become.
