I'm serious though. The total lack of enthusiasm here is depressing. Talk me out of it

I know a bj is $10, a hj is $12 and a zj is $15... How much is a wj? If I have to ask what it is can I afford it?

Nope. If you want to drive a Heep minivan, that's your business.
It isn't like you ever come wheeling anyway.

hey don't say that. I would love to, but I've been working nearly 7 days a week for the past few months or so. Glad I was able to come out when I did (before I had a job). starting to get it managed a little better but I just don't want to play in the cold. lol.
I don't know why I want one... Probably like some of you guys with the classic runners. ALWAYS wanted one from way back before I could drive.
The sad thing is they're worth about the same as mine. I love my 4R but it's starting to get more and more issues that will have to be addressed soon. And I work on BMWs etc all day and they have nice interiors. The 4runner is just old... but I love it.

More work now means more play later. But I'll still bust your balls if you buy a Grand Cherokee. If I wanted to not work on a truck, that'd be my last choice.
Well, almost last.

you don't wanna see the second gen one they do. not much better.
So I don't really want a WJ anymore... but a ZJ that's actually in good condition. too bad they look like shit on the outside (at least stock)
but I don't know. maybe another lift and some 33's might change that.
ZJ has a lot of parts support. second gen? shit. And 5.2L...
maybe the 12mpg in the 4runner is depressing too.
oh and I hate working on the second gen. everything is stupid lol.

Mike, I was in a fella's garage today, he's got a superclean black '85 with an elocker rear axle and no motor he's trying to get rid of. I bet he'd let it go for cheap, and it'd be a great platform to start a build.
I've got a pair of half-good 22RE motors here I'd make you a deal on to tide you over until you're ready to take that 5.0 out of the focus and put it in a real truck.

You know I've got 5 cars already. Not sure how that happened but I do.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love my truck but it sucks to work on. Everything has to be custom built, which is cool but I don't have the time.
My other issue seems to be that I don't like burning my clutch every time I wheel so an auto makes sense. BUT the only time I'm willing to take an auto is if it's a V8.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go wrench on this second gen with a 2" bl and 33" tires.

Jeep Grand Cherokee | ksl.com
there's the ad with all the pictures.
I will absolutely miss the 4Runner. it was a very hard decision. It looks so good and did pretty well the few times I've been off road. (wait. only once on a trail? damn) Unfortunately, I couldn't stand working on the damn thing. I didn't WANT to work on it and it never did run right from the start. Toyota did NOT know about accessibilty when they built the second gen.
Oh and no one ever likes the second gen. just everyone else who has or had owned one. (they're great trucks!)
I got 15.2 mpg average in the ZJ and I was a little hard on it. no matter what I did, the 4R got 12mpg and it's a smaller tank. I go 220 miles in a tank. like 18 gallons kind of a tank. wtf.
Aftermarket support was pretty depressing too. I'd love to build my own stuff but I don't have the time. Anything that IS available is gold.
At the same time though, I can be happy knowing what my Roach started as (certain death) and that I gave her new life that hopefully the next person takes as good or better care of.
It's going to be hard writing the for-sale ad. I've never sold a car before. I now have 6 cars though. they need to start going away.
You guys are still stuck with me...like it or not :P
