How to Secure Cargo Offroad

What do people around here use to secure their cargo while going offroad?

I found my icebox to be jumping around a lot. Wondering what you guys use.

Also: what do you when you get groceries? They appear to move around a lot... Would an all weather mat help?

I had a weathertech mat in the back of my runner and it helped a little. A drawer system is next for me. I will have a bunch of spots for tie downs once its made. Dont know if that helps you any.

For groceries I use the Toyota envelope type net which holds the bags from sliding around and is right at the rear of the hatch for easy access. It's just the wife and I so seldom more than 4 bags although more would easily fit.
For securing the cooler a couple of adjustable tie down straps through the handles or if no handles a spider web net over the top will hold it. I have purchased these at motorcycle shops as they are used for packing sleeping bags etc on bikes.

I like the idea of the spiderweb net. It might be most useful for me. I imagine the ones for motorcycles are small. Can you recommend one?

PM me your address and I will send you one. I have several that I no longer need as I gave up cycling after having my knees replaced. I need a bit of good karma anyway.

Dude! That would be amazing! I can send you some shipping money instead of Karma hahaha. But good vibes to you regardless.

Thanks a bunch!

Bednet

I use one of these compact bednets attached to the cargo hooks in the back to hold stuff down, they also have adjustable bungee cords at each end

Ratchet straps, bungee cords, tie down straps. I use Front Runner boxes to store the smaller stuff then bungee the boxes down.

De nada. Will mail tomorrow morning.
If it is too small nothing lost, but they do stretch quite a bit and you can always hook a bungee cord to the net to reach your tie down loops..

Funny thing, I am retired from General Mills and we used to make Cocoa Puffs at the factory where I worked. Small world. From your screen name I suspect you liked them as a child.

I was more of an apple jacks guy. Coco puffs is more like a play on words or in this case names. Marco and Coco Puffs. Marcocopuffs sounded better than marcocacola although I might switch to that soon since I've drank more coke then I've eaten cereal. Hahaha.

Thanks again! I'll give it a try!
