I have an electrical problem
I have a 95 4runner sr5 when you are using a lot of voltage such as turning the turn signals on, head lights on or rolling the windows up it will shut the stereo off and some times kills the motor. What do you all think it could be???????????? Thanks

Bad alternator, battery, or both (one can lead to the other).

I'm no expert but if it happened to me I would be testing the alternator or the battery. I know auto zone will test both of those for free.

'95 4runner SR5
New battery Alt. tested good, holds good volts on volt meter in the ins. cluster (14-16 volts).Back to the problem, in general day time driving the radio will cut off and come rite back on. Sometimes no problem occurs. I have checked grounds in places I know of. do u know of any other trouble shooting areas?

The dash voltmeter is not particularly accurate.
When the radio goes out does the meter go down? Does the engine hesitate?

Could it be an intermittent ground problem? Like maybe the ground is loose or corroded?

If you haven't cleaned the battery connections and posts, I would start there. then check the condition of the battery cables and the other ends of the cables, in particular the ground to the frame and engine. Since the problems seem to be so widespread I think you will find it on one of the larger cables direct from the battery.
