Tires lose air after storms

I noticed my low tire pressure indicator lamp on about a week ago, assumed it was the spare.

I checked my tires yesterday, after a lot of bad weather, numerous fronts, big temp swings, etc., and 3 of my 4 tires were down significanlty.

When I got some change for the air at the local gas station, the attendant said "wow, everyone needs air today."

That got me thinking, what causes this kind of thing?

Weather related?

Cold/temp related?

Cold makes the air more dense, so it takes up less space.

15 degrees to one psi change is a good rule of thumb. Temp goes up 15 degrees? You get one psi free! Temp goes down 30 degrees? Oops, physics just took back your free one psi and another one for itself.

Look up the Ideal Gas Law. Don't listen to Coach Belicheat try to explain it.

I just finished mine! Spent less than a hundred bucks on the whole setup!
