How far can you stretch $100

Hey guys,
I know most of us are on a budget and I wanted to see how many mods/upgrades you could get for about $100. I've been slowly upgrading my 3rd gen and have been trying to think of other fun things to do to it.

Managed a Tundra brake upgrade for $125.
LED lights in and around the truck can be put together on the cheap if you shop around & diy.
Make your own snorkel.
Diy satoshi.
Put together a cb setup.
If you've got a welder, $100 in steel could get you some cool results.
Get a plastic welder and go to town on your dash or center console.
Pick & Pull yards are your friend; perhaps caddy horns or alternator, a different pair of front seats or head unit...

or I guess you can pay retail and get a set of window vent visors or a nice set of custom sun shades.

There's all sorts of goodies at Autozone! Air fresheners, those awesome chrome fender "vents" that stick on... license plate frames with skulls or palm trees (depending on which you prefer), seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, fuzzy dice, valve stem caps, hitch covers. The possibilities are nearly endless!

Put it towards maintenance. engine oil, random bushings, differential oil, any fluid in you truck, wiper blades, air filter..... You get the idea. If you don't like that, I'd say a fifth of Makers Mark and a cheap hooker.

A few random ideas... possibilities are endless:

  • $20 can get some Duplicolor to paint those wheels any color you want.

  • $20 could get a can of SEM trim black, redo the rear spoiler and some black trim parts.

  • $100 could cover new sway bar, end link, and steering rack bushings (polyurethane)

  • $100 can get new spark plugs/wires plus an oil change/filter

  • If you have a manual trans, you could use shifter socket and ball bushings from marlin crawler, plus new rubber boots for shifter, T-case, shift fork, plus a new vinyl shifter boot... less than $100 right there.

I think I can go further than 600 miles.
100 dollars divided by 2.35 for gasoline = 42.55 gallons of gas
42.55 gallons of gas x 20 mpg = 851 miles.

But 600 miles is a great shoot from the hip number, especially if you stop to get something to eat.
