Suspension install shops in San Diego

Hey all,

I have an ICON stage 2 kit on its way for a '15 4Runner Trail w/ KDSS and have been doing a fair amount of research on reputable places to take in for the install. I have been recommended Truck Shop and a few other places near the east county area but nothing that has won me over.

Can anyone with first hand experience recommend a local shop (or guy) to take it to? Not looking for any fab work obviously, just a place with a solid rep and will know how to calibrate the KDSS for the added lift. I will have to factor in the cost of an alignment as well but would like to take it to a place that is all inclusive. However, if the price is right I don't mind taking it to an alignment shop.

Very new to this forum so any help is greatly appreciated!

-Sean

If i was you, i would call the Truck Shop and talk to James. State your concerns, and exspectations and go from there. They did my lift install, and i was completely happy with the work. I then had them do my brake upgrade And was happy with the job they did there. Also did some bushing work, i have nothing bad to say about the work or service.

The Truck Shop. I took my '14 SR5 there for a transmission cooler and rear air bag install, so not apples to apples, but it was definitely the kind of place I'd want to take my truck for any work. Parking lot full of LC's, 'Runners, and Tacomas, and they seemed to know what they were doing. Plenty of desert runner builds, so I'm sure they could handle a lift kit, probably in their sleep.

I'm looking for a good shop in SD as well. Where did you end up going?

Took it to a local guy in North County. San Marcos area. PM me if you want his contact info. Great guy, very knowledgeable, and charged me a reasonable price up front. All work was done at his place. 20k miles later and I've had no issues.

Wherever you decide to go make sure you get an alignment done ASAP.

Yeah, he's mainly on TW. Good guy, prior Toyota master tech. Can pretty much work on anything.

Another The Truck Shop supporter here. They've done all the work on my 2008 SR5 V8 since I've owned it. Straight up guys who know their Yotas.
