Baja Designs Introduces new S8 Light Bar to replace Stealth Series.
We are proud to introduce the Baja Designs S8 Light Bar, the latest addition to our product line! Serving as a replacement to our Stealth bars, the S8 comes with a number of upgrades. The aluminum frame features a new scalloped housing design and the reflectors have been upgraded to the same design used on our Squadron and S2 lights. The biggest change is the addition of an amber daytime running light backlit function. With nearly 50,000 hours of LED life, each 10” section puts out 4,000 lumens of light, with a low amp draw of 3.33 amps. Each light comes with our 30 Day Satisfaction Guarantee and Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Thank you both for working on this! Question for you. I'm looking to get a pair of XL80's. I see on your site that you're offering this in a high speed spot option, but I don't see that light being offered on BD's website. Do they offer a XL80 in spot configuration? If so, what is the lumen output vs the driving combo?

Sold- 2002 Thundercloud Grey, Sport Edition- King Coilover's, Builtright UCA
Does that mean you'll be discounting the stealth bars even more on Black Friday since they're discontinued?

The high speed spot option we have on our site would be the XL Racer Edition. Now the lumen thing is tricky and not always the best way to judge BD lights. The XL Pro has 4900 lumens, while the racer edition has 4300 but the racer edition will shoot light 40% further using the same amount of power. Its a more efficient system. Racer edition lights cost the same as the XL80, the pro are slightly less expensive.
What we are working on right now is trying to see if the Pro lens will fit the XL80 housing.
We'll be sure to post if you'll be marking down the stealths! I'd definitely be interested.

So the racer edition throws light 40% further than the xl80 as well? Does the xl80 have the same coverage the the xl pro, but much more light?

Deal wont be any better than this! We are getting a special SEMA pricing and extending the discount to you all. The only thing that is a possibility is the discontinuation & clear out of the Stealth bars, but that has not been confirmed yet.

Its apples to oranges as the XL80 isnt offered with the high speed spot optics, but if it had them would probably outshine the Racer. The racer will give you more distance, but that is with a very narrow 6 degree beam.
XL80 vs XL Pro is exactly what you mentioned. Offered with the same Optics, the XL80 uses a much brighter, more efficient cree XHP50 vs the XL PROs XP-L, driven at twice the wattage. It will have the same beam pattern and spread, but with more light output and coverage.
While racing the Baja 1000, BD equips their bike racers with something they call the "Baja Designs XL80/XL Racer Dual Race Light" which has one XL80 for close up and mid-ground work, with an XL racer highspeed spot optic mounted right next to it for distance.
