Storage solution

Hey everyone. I've looked through the storage solution thread and y'all have amazing ideas! I've come up with something that I think will work really well, and I'm interested in your feedback as well as sourcing some parts.

Here's a general concept of the initial stage. (no cover because I'm not familiar with sketchup really. still working through it.

My theory is the green and yellow are drawers that would slide into the cavity under the cover (3/4" plywood that would be the sleeping platform as well) within the yellow drawer on the bottom is what I'm planning on using as a slide-out for a table. I'd like to get lock-in/lock-out slides so I can use it as a work surface for cooking. this way I can still use the drawer with the slide out table pulled out.

the 'back' would sit flush behind the rear seats when they're set up. provide cubby's for storage as well. Probably my air compressor and some other recovery gear, etc...

What do you guys all think? Any suggestions? And anybody have a good suggestion on where to get slides that lock in/out and maybe even halfway as well?!

Hey looks like the one I built with the same concept 2 drawers and 2 little cubbys behind the rear seats. I bought my drawer slides off of amazon they might have locking ones but I didn't look I just went with one of the cheaper options but they have worked fine for me and its been maybe 8 months since I built it. I like the table pullout under your drawer. I haven't seen anyone do that here so be sure to post pics cuz I wanna see how it turned out.

Yeah! I'll hopefully be able to get it done this winter. Just figured I'd get some feedback on it here and see if anyone's got some input. You'll have to check it out when it's all done!

Yeah I'll check it out! Hopefully by then I'll have my lift on with my new tires that way we both would look cool. I'm just too busy building an ice fish house right now that 4runner stuff got put on the back burner

Your design will probably work well. If it becomes a pain to build, you can already buy setups exactly like that.

WHOA! seriously! I guess someone's thought of it, but didn't realize you could actually buy it. I'll probably build it though. Having the time, skillset, and desire to learn more helps with that. Oh, and budget!

That's really cool though. Can't quite tell, but who makes that?

That one is from Outback Solutions. The one pictured is in a Wrangler and I have no idea if they have versions for the 4runners. But the concept works!
