Please help w/ iPhone GPS & blue-tooth raido

Hi folks

I need some help w/ using my iPhone 6 as a GPS and having the voice sound come through the radio. I have a 2011 4Runner w/ a stock blue-tooth radio. I have no problem using the phone thought the radio. I’ve been using the google maps app for navigation / GPS. This is very convienent becasue I can go to contacts and simply click the address & it goes right to maps. I have some hearing loss (so can’t hear the instructions through the phone while driving) & want to avoid being too disracted while driving. I also don’t want to get pulled over for messing w/ my phone in area’s where hands-free phone while driving is the law. I really need to be abe to hear the “in 500 feet turn left.

Can anyone help me get the navigation / GPS voice sound come through my blue tooth radio please?

Thanks!
JD

Are you using a Google Maps app that you downloaded or the Maps app that comes with the iPhone? My guess is that you are using the Maps (aka Apple Maps) app if you can access it via your contacts.

To set the output to bluetooth in Apple maps:

1. Sync phone to Bluetooth in your truck.

2. Open Maps and enter an address. Press start to start navigation.

3. Once navigation starts, press the Bluetooth icon in the lower right corner. You may have to tap the screen to see it.

4. Change the "output" setting from iPhone to whatever your bluetooth radio calls itself.

Thanks gangster & friends. Fixed the settings & it works great. So glad that I don't have to buy another unit.
Thanks again & take care!

Hi, I have a Bluetooth related issue with my 2012 4Runner.

Radio no longer recognized Bluetooth. Cannot connect to phone for music or calls. When hitting the setup button, phone is not even an option to press

Stabs in the dark here as I don't know anything about your particular radio:

1. Turn phone off and then back on. Go to "settings" and see if Bluetooth is turned on. Turn Bluetooth off and then back on. (I've had to do this)

2. Delete some of the available Bluetooth source selections from your radio. Some don't allow over a certain number.
