Legality of pillar lights

I have been toying with the idea of picking up a set of cbi ditch brackets for my 3rd Gen so I can mount some led pods. I live in Pa and from what I have read online it looks like they may have to be covered when not in use (on road) because they are above 42" high. Not entirely clear on how they need to be wired either (on only with highs, on only with lows, not on with fogs, etc). I have read the laws but just need some help deciphering.

Anybody else in Pa with some insight?

I go to RC in PA a lot. Most of the guys there are cops and they say as long as you don't have them on when you're on the road, they won't bother you. Off road use only as the saying goes...

Legality of pillar lights

^^This.

Same in NC.

People have lights all over the place, and don't get bothered because they don't use them on the road.

I some times do, on a really lonely back road, but I shut them off right away if I *think* another car is coming.

On a side note, this damn phone just autocorrected shut to shit. I think I might type out cuss words too much. Legality of pillar lights

I don't really see much of an issue either as long as I'm not stupid with them... but I also don't want to give a cop who is having a bad day any reason to give me a ticket. I also don't want to give my mechanic any reason to fail me for my yearly inspection.

F that road.

Going down 17 or 24, Gumbranch into Richlands.

Or ANY of the roads on base. Freaking deer on CL are crazy.

I use to go from here to Hickory a lot, down 40, and I used them on there. Deer again.
