Genuine OEM Parts in CANADA

So where do all my fellow Canucks buy their genuine Toyota parts from?

I have a bunch of parts I'm looking for (upper/lower ball joints, inner and outer tie rods + some other cheapish stuff) and the local dealership wanted $1472 CAD or with a 15% discount $1266 CAD.

Looking online on more than a few websites these parts are worth ~$650 USD, current exchange rate sets that around $860 CAD. Most places won't ship to Canada and the one that I found that did ship to Canada wanted $450 for shipping!?!

Unless I can find a more reasonable place to buy parts I'm going to have to order the parts to a receiver just across the border and go pick them up my self. It's only 8% duty on auto parts...

So I pose my question: where do my fellow Canucks buy their OEM Toyota parts from?

I order almost everything from the US to a mailbox on the other side of the border.
I go across and pick it up.

Duty doesn't come in to play if the parts originated in certain countries. USA being one. Japan may require additional duty. Depends how thorough the customs inspector is.

however you will have to pay HST on it. I just brought almost $4000 USD (~~5400 canadian) worth of parts across. I had to pay 15% tax at the border. It sucked.

Also, some saavy sellers can prepare a warrantee replacement invoice for you. I have not done my research on this yet, but I believe this could save a LOT of taxes.

Discount OEM Toyota Parts and Accessories - ToyotaPartsDirect.com

Here's a dealer out west somewhere that has a nice parts website set up with the diagrams and everything. Personally I have never bought parts from them but the reviews are good and shipping seems reasonable.

EDIT: I lied, they're based in Ontario, I think it was the mountains in their logo that threw me off.

Thanks nb_rob, that's exactly what I ended up doing. I priced out my parts order from a local dealer and they wanted $1472, and offered a 15% discount to $1266 (plus 13% tax in MB) F that!

I also priced out the parts at toyotapartsdirect.ca and came up with $1141 with shipping in.

I ended up ordering from toyotapartsdeal.com for $705 USD so about $950 and I still need to go pick up that parts. I'm planing on staying for the weekend so duty & taxes should not be an issue.

In hindsight I might as well have ordered from toyotapartsdirect.ca, the extra $200 is probably worth not driving south and still having to paying duty.
